Gulgong is unique, many buildings are original . The Mayne street is still narrow as in the Cobb and Co days. The people are friendly and the museums are incredible. A shame it is still not on the back of the ten dollar not.
If you are visiting Mudgee wineries . Gulgong is a must for a visit.
The pubs are great and The Silver Fox Café was great for coffee and lunch.
Enjoy your visit.

Gulgong is a nice little town, the motel clean and tidy, the staff were helpful, the bowling club was great, our meal was great.
The people that we met around town were nice and friendly.
The weather was very chilly and damp for a couple of days.

Gulgong is a gorgeous little village, steeped in history. There are pubs with roaring fires, and interesting little shops to explore. All the locals we encountered were really friendly and ready for a chat. The pubs offer delicious, hearty, (large!) meals, at great prices. There’s a big IGA if you need to buy any provisions (even it has kept the old-word character of the village, as it’s housed in an old ‘merchants’ store!)
Just one thing to be e aware of though is that a few of the shops only open towards the end of the week, and on weekends.
I’d recommend a trip to Gulgong to anyone.

Old gold mining town with a wonky main street and lots of well preserved historic buildings. Don't miss the Gulgong Pioneer Museum and the wonderful Holterman Museum. If you like browsing different shops go to Stacks Downunder- so called because it is located under the local supermarket. There is a lot of stuff you didn't even know you needed.

Loved Gulgong, can't wait to get back and explore more of the area. Loved the look and feel of the town, so impressed with how the buildings have been maintained, gives a great glimpse back in time, to bad more places aren't preserved in this way.

A selection of outstanding museums in the context of a beautifully preserved historic town. The main street is delightful to walk along. Lots of wineries nearby to sample. Close enough to Mudgee to be convenient for excellent restaurants and don't miss the balloon ride at daybreak, it's brilliant.

Beautiful cottage with stunning views. Amazingly peaceful, even with guests staying in the other apartments.
We enjoyed swimming in the pool, meeting the resident goats, stargazing at night...
The perfect base to explore Mudgee and Gulgong, and escape from the city for a few days. I would definitely stay here again!
What a gorgeous old building! This is our 3rd stay in Gulgong and it's always pleasant! Mildly inconvenient with the shared bathroom at the other end of the hall, but you know that going in, so it's fine. Rooms are clean, beds comfy, showers hot! Great value!

Older hotel but very clean & tidy and reasonably priced with a home cooked breakfast included, friendly staff, situated in town & close to shops & restaurants
