The hosts were lovely and the breakfast exceptional. The rooms were in keeping with the era of the house and it was lovely to have a sitting room to enjoy a cuppa and read for a while. Beautiful gardens.

It was a lovely little cottage in a quiet and peaceful rural area. The interior was very tastefully furnished to exceptional standards. Gerry was an attentive host who gave us everything we needed and more. I will recommend her cottage to friends and family who will be travelling to Tasmania in the future.

The property location was fantastic. Hosts Maria & Wayne are absolutely delightful. The Terrace room was large, spacious and the attention to detail impeccable. The bed was large and comfortable. There were books to read, The breakfast was fantastic. The guest lounge room was large and cosy, with an and many DVD’s to chose from. There was also a kitchen with microwave, stove and oven which guests are able to use.

I've stayed in 5 star hotels and they've failed to meet my expectations like this place did. The location is beautiful, the host is so kind and easy. The room was immaculately clean, big and the bathroom will be a place that lives on in my dreams. This has been by far my favourite and most memorable experience staying anywhere. I could not recommend this place enough and we will be coming back.

A cute chapel styled accommodation on the hill with a beautiful view. So peaceful and everything you need for a fantastic stay. Lovely extras supplied, bread was yum. Snacks if you feel like them. Great bathroom, tub, and shower with a view.

This BnB would have to be top of the bucket list, with absolutely impeccable presentation, wonderful hosts, great outlook over the bay and close to other attractions and tours. Will definitely stay there again, but for longer.

The weather in May had become quite cold at night however, our rooms were delightfully warm. Electric blankets, room heaters & log burning SC fire (which our host Don had burning before our arrival). Delicious breakfast with several choices all beautifully prepared by Leanne. It was a beautiful morning, to see the Bay from our windows. A microwave is available in a small area near the back entrance. This area is not made for large guest food operation. Having said that, there are good restaurants/food outlets close by. We loved our stay & wish we could have stayed much longer.

I loved the ambience and the very tasteful furnishings as well as the comfortable layout of the rooms. The view across the beautiful gardens to the bay was stunning as most of the garden was in flower. Breakfast was served in the beautiful dining room that included home made bread and jam, yogurt and mixed fruit as well as homemade muffins to take with us for morning tea.

Castle Forbes Bay is located between Franklin (5 min drive)...

Castle Forbes Bay is located between Franklin (5 min drive) and Port Huon (3 min drive) on the Huon River. It is quiet and with fruit orchards at every second property. It is only a 40 min drive to Hobart and 30mins to Cygnet. It is a great spot to explore the Huon Valley.

A very well placed site allowing for day trips to all of the...

A very well placed site allowing for day trips to all of the east coast, south coast. Tuhane Adventures was a great day out. A visit to Snug falls is worth the walk. Hastings cave is only a half day trip, but quite an experience. Eating at the Kermadie hotel was well worth the short drive from Donalea B&B
