The warm reception by the hosts. They looked out for my elderly parents and also gave good local advice on scenic spots and attractions. The room was comfy with good support for the bedding. Despite our short stay, we feel refreshed to move on to Wynyard from Burnie.

Absolutely fabulous accom in a great location. Breakfast was fantastic and the kitchen so well stocked. Duck House is a unique house filled with history snd generosity snd love. The penguins are just down the the road with wonderful information from the volunteers. We loved our stay at Duck House. Thanks Tych and Lyn!

Balcony was the best! Beautiful views, lovely and helpful staff, Comfy bed, close to everything, 5min walk to see penguins at dusk - perfect! We ate from the restaurant and it was delicious and huge! Easy off street parking.

Burnie Park and Oldaker falls are worth the visit. Little Penguins coming in at night was a thrill. Communion Brewing Co was a great meal; quick and very friendly. Upper Bernie Lookout was worth a look with info on industries past.

Burnie is a lovely friendy coastal town with good shopping...

Burnie is a lovely friendy coastal town with good shopping facilities and eating places. Apart from the fact that you can walk along the beach and of an evening see the penguins it is within driving distance of other notable places for day trips. Stanley, Smithton, Cradle Mountain and the drive to any of these places is mainly picturesque and there is no need for rushing, just relax and enjoy the journey.

Burnie has many worthwhile places to visit.

Burnie has many worthwhile places to visit. The beach and walk tracks are fantastic. WestPark Garden Centre and Secret Buddha Cafe are fabulous places to visit if you are a gardener, even for just a look. My favourite plave is Bunny Island, a traffic Island on the Bass Highway that has Black and Brown Bunnies. The best restaurant we have visited in Burnie is Uday Palace Indian Restaurant at 77 Mount street. One of the best Indian Restaurants we have ever been to in Australia.

Born in Stanley, raised in Burnie.......what's not to love...

Born in Stanley, raised in Burnie.......what's not to love about the NW coast! My advice is to Google youtube for videos of people driving around Burnie and nearby towns. There are many videos to choose from. Visitors note how the pace of living in Tasmania is more relaxed than Mainland states, and the citizens are warm and welcoming. Enjoy!

An interesting city, friendly and pretty.

An interesting city, friendly and pretty. The beach is lovely, people swimming and walking. I have visited the Makers. Workshop on a prior visit. Also Burnie is a good spot to visit towns further west.

Burnie was a base for us over nights, initially we were placed in a room that made it difficult for me with health issues but the reception lady was excellent and reallocated us to a ground floor room. The motel room was very good and the bed quite comfy.

My room at the Ikon Hotel was huge with a seating area and tv. There was a lovely comfortable bed with a second tv on the wall opposite and a large bathroom with a spa bath and separate large shower. It also had a large kitchenette. Bathrobes and slippers were also available. The hotel is right in the main shopping area of Burnie and a block from the seafront. I would definitely stay here again.

Cosy, modern cabin, with small kitchen, excellent shower, and comfy bed. It is on top of the hill overlooking Burnie, so if you want to head into town on foot (e.g. to watch the penguins) it is a very steep walk. The building houses two units, with a locked door between them, so you can hear the neighbour.

Property is located directly opposite Tasmania University . Walking distance to penguin observation area, where we saw so many penguins. Ocean views. Spacious room, which had all you need for a home away from home feel.
