My wife and I visited Sweet Retreat as a base to visit the Southern Great Barrier Reef whilst we were up in Bundaberg. The home is in a beautiful setting with amazing sunsets over the cane fields and loads of kangaroos hopping about at dawn and dusk. At night we loved lighting the fire and watching the stars. Louise was a fantastic host, who gave us lots of tips about Bundaberg, kept the home very clean and even gave us some fresh lemonade made from fruit from the garden.

Very nice caravan with comfortable beds and all the equipment we needed. The staff was very kind, they allowed easy check in in the night, lugage storage during the day, and we could use the kitchen in the night eventhough we had checked out, since our bus departed in the evening. And very cute dogs.

The people were great but the city layout leaves a lot to be desired. In my opinion it is said to be a retirement town but still wonderful to visit with all the accessible beaches and turtle nesting sites. Also the home of Bundaberg Rum so a walk through is nearly mandatory

My trip to bunderburg was a family situation With that I had dealings with the hospital .Not a good experience. The town itself if very unsafe to walk around in certain areas .Told by locals .Lots of drug issues in broad daylight .I also made comment on the amount of sirens 24/7 . I would not recommend Bunderburg to my family .I have no family in Bunderburg .My daughter was bought there from Agnus Waters to the hospital

I like the people of Bundaberg they are very friendly and helpful. The young couple who saw me struggling and gave me a lift got more than they bargained for when I fell and another gentleman in a blue SUV stopped and helped them get me up off the ground. They are a credit to your community.

A good place to visit Lady Musgrave & Lady Elliot Island from. A cute little town with a few shops and an Art gallery, plus beaches nearby. There is a local bus but it's only every two hours so a car is useful!

It’d be great if there was a better way to get there by...

It’d be great if there was a better way to get there by motor vehicle, than having to battle your way on that Freeway from Brisbane, I was stuck on it 3 times in this last week firstly going into & out of Brisbane on family business, then on departure from Bundy to drive home to Newcastle in NSW I believe it added up to two hours to each trip I made on it, where are all these motor vehicles travelling to? for someone like myself that regularly uses the Freeway from Newcastle to Sydney plus associated Toll roads in and around Sydney that’s saying something, don’t get me wrong your roads are great but wooohee that slowly moving traffic, it’s a shocker.

I go to Bundaberg about once a month.

I go to Bundaberg about once a month. Mainly for shopping, banking and medical appointments. And in the last 4 year's the traffic is horrendous. A lot of inconsiderate driver's. Harder to get parking spot's in the main part of town . And the parking lot's of only 10 min's is ridiculous. Parked there to use an ATM. No ATMs working . It makes you stress out. And they want a cashless society, I hope not. But Bundaberg have their nice spot's, so it's not all bad. We had dinner at Sang's Asian Fusion, a lovely restaurant, good food and lovely service. always eat there or order from there when we stay in Bundaberg.

My daughter liked the view of the Burnett River, she was excited to see it when she opened the curtains in the morning. The rooms are nice, id say they are the best in Bundaberg itself, they are slightly outdated to me but only because I stay in Brisbane, Sydney and Noosa often and in those places the hotels are in competition with so many others that they must stay up to date with the latest trends.

Generous sized apartments plus LUG, reading past reviews I was not sure if my xtrail would fit but I managed to back it in no worries. Very handy on the day of departure to have the car right there to pack up. Apartment had a smart tv/ streaming services which was an added bonus, property was nice and quiet during our stay and a close drive to everywhere we needed to go while in Bundy.
