FAQs about hotels in Brisbane

Sun-Drenched and Leafy

At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laidback Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s arty South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just opposite is the towering skyline of Brisbane's CBD, where many hotels in Brisbane city centre are located.

Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. More shopping centres are found all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.

This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south you can hug one of the loveable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.

Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks – Wickham Park – contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the north-east, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.

As well as central accommodation, Booking.com also offers hotels near Brisbane Airport in a north-eastern coastal suburb.

We stayed close to the river and the shopping streets.

We stayed close to the river and the shopping streets. Brisbane has a lot of older buildings which really adds to the character of the place. There were lots of people on the move nice and early and the weather was stunning (December).

Amazing city and people !

Amazing city and people ! Public transportation is efficient with plenty of options from busses to trains to ferries. Nature is nearby with Stradbroke Island, Mt. Coo-tha. In the city there is a lot of trees. Parc and Botanic gardens are very well maintained and clean, worth spending time in there. The city has a nice flow for walkers to discover it on their feet.

Brisbane is a nice city, especially in terms of the weather, the cleanliness and the friendliness of Brisbanites. Birsbane has become much more multicultural than in the 90s and there are many ethnic shops, restaurants and multicultural events to accommodate travellers and international students from around the world. So come down under and don't just visit Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. There are many hidden gems in the interiors of Australia, the beautiful red earth and the vastness and emptiness of outback Queensland and Australia is something you will not find elsewhere. And it is generally very safe!!

The CBD and Southbank areas are great spots to wander and shop. The heritage locations and grand older buildings are great to take in. Eating out was enjoyable in the venues we experienced. Getting around is easy whether by public transport, taxi or walking. Just to have the time to experience a new location and take in what is on offer should be enjoyable fun for any age group. The pedestrian bridges across the river are a great initiative.

Brisbane had an awesome vibe everywhere. ...maybe a system like the Gold Coast with a bike rider and the back cart thing to transport couples families etc would be a more environmentally friendly approach. Was a bit sad to see so many e scooters being neglected . LOVED ALL THE NEW E SCOOTER PATHS BEING IMPLEMENTED....Would be nice if a family could hire them and feel totally safe to travel around explore everything together. And some more led digital advertising information stands to help guide and advise of events /destinations/ activities/adventures. The option of a city cat to the Sunshine Coast would really rock the world and to rock my dreams....the option of a sky gondola over the beaches to the city would be SO MUCH MORE FUN AND FAR FAR BETTER VIEWS. Mobile eateries and/or uber delivers for travvellers . A information service at ALL entries and exits to help travellers and Qld transport communicate better. A kids cart so the can play on long trips and more toilets. Little entertainment, movies, comedy shows, talent shows/basking for travellers entertainment. As well as REAL QUIET CARRIAGES options. Must have charging port holes for phones. Chairs back to back in the middle of trains would allow for scenic viewing and has alot more benefits. Led lightening at stops to help with attracting good vibes/energy, safety and visual and social interaction for each location.. Omg!!!!! Sorry, thank you, let's play again lol

First time staying at Kooii. Great location, just a few minutes around the corner from the train station, Fortitude Valley, so easy to reach from Brisbane Airport. Lovely apartment. Very clean. Spacious. Love the infinity pool and lively city views. Handy to transport to the downtown CBD. Close to supermarket for self catering and some great eateries. Would definitely stay again!

Parking was excellent! We find it one of the trickier factors in Brisbane and this garage and system was very easy and spacious! The apartments are a great size. The properly functional balcony and view is awesome too! The pool is clean and the tennis crt is great. Lots of great restaurants fairly close and the river cat into the city or Southbank.

Great location with stunning views. Handy to the Southbank Parklands and other walking paths - eg. Kangaroo cliffs; Botanic Gardens. Easy walk to many eating places and about 15 minute walk into the CBD (otherwise can catch the free Kitty Cat ferry which departs from the jetty just below the apartments)
