A rather quiet village with a train station situated at the...

A rather quiet village with a train station situated at the river Inn. As it was out of season there was not a lot to do. There are not a lot of shops. We ate at the hotel and did not see another restaurant, they were closed so it looked.

A pretty little village in Austria linked to another nice...

A pretty little village in Austria linked to another nice village with a castle on top of a hill opposite. Access on foot (or by bike) is excellent. The castle buildings are accessible though not open before 11 am. Great views, well worth a visit if one likes such places.

Wernstein am Inn is a very peaceful place.

Wernstein am Inn is a very peaceful place. Ideal if you're looking to escape the stresses of everyday life. I'd say it's a beautiful spot for nature lovers. However, in my opinion, it's not the best place for vacationers who crave action and a variety of activities.

Beautiful walks along the Inn River.

Beautiful walks along the Inn River. You can walk to Passau (9km), either on one or the other side of the INN River. From Passau you can return by train. It is only one station. The train station is a short walk from the hotel (about 10 minutes walk). You can take a trip either on foot (6km) or by train to Schärding. A very nice and pleasant town. Nearby is a nice castle Schloss Neuburg with a wonderful view.
