The location is amazing at the foot of the mountains so beautiful views all around. The hotel was great, food and comfort and all. We used the spa which was a great way to relax. The hotel lent us some bicycles to cycle around which was good fun. Most of all the staff were exceptional. they greeted us very kindly and were so nice and helpful. They went out of their way to accommodate us. It was truly an amazing experience. Thank you ☺️

Cozy cottages with a stunning view of the lake and surrounding mountains. The perfect place for a quite and peaceful getaway from the city. From the cottage there are several hiking trails you can choose from, and within a 10min drive you can get on the Salamander train to reach the top of the Schneeberg. The cottage itself was very clean, and there was even firewood available to make a cozy fire in the evenings. The restaurant has reduced opening hours because we were there off-season, but we very much enjoyed our dinner there as well. We will be back for sure!

Compared to what the accommodation looked like in pictures, in reality it was actually much better. The space looks renovated and well kept. It is not luxury stay, but for a price we booked it for it was quite decent. It is located deep in the forest and there is nice stream running nearby. Unit was relatively clean and equipped. Furniture is simple yet functional. I would not hesitate to stay again. Last ~400m of approach road is not paved, but it is doable by any car, even with a car with low clearance. The road is quite narrow, drive slowly. Directions: Arriving from Vienna direction, you need to navigate town Greith and approach to the accommodation from there (basically from west - see attached screenshot).

Perfect place to stay for a night during longer trip. Near the highway and easy to find. The room was very quiet, even though the hotel is located just next to the road. We had a direct exit from the room to the forest, which is very convenient when traveling with a dog (there's an additionall payment - 8E for a dog). Comfortable beds, nice bathroom, a mini bar and a fridge in a room. Breakfast was amazing - many options for vegans (even many kinds of vegan milk, and I always have a problem getting plant-based milk in hotels!). Very friendly staff, and a nice restaurant next door.

The main attraction is the nearest mountain, Schneeberg.

The main attraction is the nearest mountain, Schneeberg. There is a hiking pass and a special train in summer. The hike is fantastic! Best fitness you can have and a great view (if the weather is not too bad).

Puchberg is a beautiful little town with the Scneeberg...

Puchberg is a beautiful little town with the Scneeberg scenery. Very good restaurants and bars waiting for the customers. Nice and friendly people everywhere. Only one homeless spotted... :D Unfortunately the Salamandra train is not working in winter.

I think visiting Puchberg am Schneeberg would be perfect as...

I think visiting Puchberg am Schneeberg would be perfect as a day trip from Vienna - especially if you only go to hike the Schneeberg. Staying the night in Puchberg is advised, if you would like to wake up to the view of mountains :) Or watch the starry sky ;) Nothing is open in the evening, so if you descend the mountain late (as we did, since we missed the last Salamander train), there is nowhere to get food. Only one place is open, but they serve nothing but drinks by that time. By about 8.30 pm (in September) the entire village was dark and quiet. Very unusual and eerie, if you've been staying in capital cities before that :P

The apartments is beautifully furnished and really well equipped - the electric grill is an added bonus! The site is really lovely, in a quiet, beautiful area with views on the lake and hills all around. The location is great, close to hiking paths as well as a 10 minute drive to Puchberg am Schneeberg. The restaurant offers some local delicacies (note that only open Thu - Sun).

There was lots to like about this hotel! We particularly appreciated the convenient location close to the train station, the very clean and big pool area, the breakfast and afternoon snack, the onsite tennis courts, and the onsite restaurant. Everything under one roof. We loved that we could use the wellness area all day on the days we checked in and out.

The hotel was not exactly modern but it was clean and the staff were great. The food in the restaurant was tasty, there was a choice of fresh fruit for breakfast and salads for lunch and dinner. The wellness area was nice, the swimming pool was pleasantly warm.
