We stayed in La Belladonna, which is filled with character and charm. Everything is sumptuous and so comfortable & the bedding is top notch. The hosts are warm, welcoming and so friendly. Our buffet breakfast was a delight to the tastebuds and enjoyed in the majestic dining room, filled with gorgeous artefacts & the smell of the welcoming fire was beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay at Haus Bellevue. Our room was clean, well-equipped, and offered an amazing view through the window. The shared kitchen was great for preparing a quick meal. Andrea was kind and helpful throughout our stay. The railway station and bus stop were also really close, which made getting around super easy. Would definitely recommend.

Obertraun is a very small town opposite Hallstatt lake. Peaceful quiet place for us to explore by walking around . We found fresh beers & good food in pizza restaurant, hotel resort for dinner, and a bakery shop for a quick breakfast. And bus ride conveniently brought us to Hallstatt.

We travelled with 3 different trains from Vienna to...

We travelled with 3 different trains from Vienna to Obertraun in order to visit Hallstat. Unfortunately, the transportation wasn't very convenient for us. One of the trains that we had arranged was late and we had to wait two more hours in order to get the last train to Obertraun. We departed from Vienna at 8:00 and we arrived to Obertraun at 15:30! Obertraun was very close to Hallstat. Hallstat is a magical place but next time I would prefer to visit it by car.

Stay in beautiful Obertraun instead of the overpriced and crowded Hallstatt! We stayed 3 nights in a lovely accommodation Haus Edelweiss, and following the recommendations of lovely host Nina, we spent one day walking from Obertruan to Hallstatt. Along the way, we saw this stone path going up the hill and we went up (very do-able hike), and it led to a very beautiful view of Hallstatt! We then went down the other way and continued walking towards Hallstatt, explored the beautiful village and took the ferry (Euro 12/pax) back to Obertruan. Next day, we walked a loop from Obertruan to Koppenwinlsee. The walk was very lovely and we saw tiny red strawberries everywhere! There was a restaurant after Koppenwinslee but I think it was closed on Mon-Wed (please check), and other days open for lunch & dinner, so time yourself to make it in time for lunch/dinner. We were stopping so often to admire the scenery that we missed their lunch time! It is better to visit during non-summer to enjoy Austria.

Scenic surroundings, free breakfast-good variety. close to cable car station and Hallstatt (less than 10mins by bus to reach) with easy transport (bus and train station) outside the hotel. Nice sunset. I like it here with a nice view from our room windows! Our room 102 has a microwave oven, Coffee maker, mini fridge, bowls... Spacious bathroom! Friendly staff, Well recommended.

This year I’ve stayed in more than 50 hotels, and this was the first one that actually looks even better in real life than in the photos on the website. Everything in the hotel is premium quality, even the small details. It’s very quiet, the breakfast is perfect even for a longer stay of 4–5 days, and the surroundings are really pleasant. Parking is free as well.

Great location. Lake front location and balcony view over lake was beautiful, like the picture. Obertraun town is tiny with nothing to see besides the lake, so this hotel was near everything because its near the lake, the train, and the one restaurant.

Beware! There are TWO Seehotel at Hallstatt. This is not the one you are looking for on the lake! This is fine. Nice staff, sweet but not a hotel. This is like a dorm. Beautiful mountains and lots of restaurants
