The room was beautiful and clean. I appreciate the rich breakfast, including eggs served in different ways. The wellness area with a terrace overlooking the surrounding mountains was also amazing.

Quiet location, except for the 7am and 7pm church bells, the church is directly across the road. Breakfast was plentiful, with variety. Room was as advertised. Staff friendly, spoke English and gave great recommendations for local dinning. Lots of easy parking.

The appartment was perfectly clean, modern, well equipped and with a beautiful view. Smooth communication with the host. We booked the appartment thinking it was downstairs, but it was not located directly on the ground floor, but it had a beautiful and big terrace. We enjoyed it also with our children, thank you!

The breakfast - consisting of local produce - was excellent, and the landlady gladly adapted it to our special dietary preferences, which is something we've really appreciated. The house is super-clean; our room's terrace overlooked a green meadow, the wifi worked flawlessly and we could use a parking space just by the house - very convenient :) The location is perfect for a trip to Ötchergräben and the Gemeindealpe. We felt very welcome :)

Perfect locality. Owner is comunicating everythig you need. Apartment is realy very large. Everything what you will need, you will find. Beautiful views from windows. Apartment is after reconstruction, evey room have badroom. Perfect locality for hiking. Train station is 5 min walking, parking for car 50 m from apartment. No complains, we will be happy to go here again.

Mitterbach is easily accessible via public transport with...

Mitterbach is easily accessible via public transport with the Mariazeller trainline which runs nearly every hour or so. It is a small town so beware of the opening and 'rest times' of local supermarkets and restaurants. The choice is limited. That said, there are a couple of cosy, family-run places and it's a gorgeous area with loads of scenic hiking routes in a truly stunning area. Well worth visiting!

Ideal for a longer stay.

Ideal for a longer stay. Besides the many hiking and sports opportunities, there are also numerous attractions in the surrounding area (recommended with the Lower Austria Card) that are well worth visiting. Buses and trains also make it easy to often do without a car.

Since I've known Mitterbach since childhood, I enjoy...

Since I've known Mitterbach since childhood, I enjoy revisiting familiar paths and inns. But there are also many new places to discover. Mitterbach has developed positively. I think the village square is very well done.

If you want to be right in nature, this is the perfect place...

If you want to be right in nature, this is the perfect place. Mariazell is just one stop away. Mitterbach is peaceful, and you have easy access to the mountains. It's also wonderful for families, with an outdoor swimming pool, mountain guides with lifts, and mountain carts. And then there's the magnificent Mariazell Railway :)

The location is fantastic, and the tourist office has hiking...

The location is fantastic, and the tourist office has hiking maps. Unfortunately, our guesthouse didn't have any, but the area is definitely worth exploring! The Erlauf reservoir and Erlaufsee lake are beautiful. Mariazell is just a stone's throw away by car. Be sure to check the operating hours when visiting the Gemeindealpe/lift!

The destination has several restaurants, a shop, a café, 2 churches, a petrol station, a train station and a summer swimming pool. From the top of Gemeindalpe /1626m/ there are beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Close to the most famous pilgrimage site in Austria, lakes, and the Ötschergräben gorge.
