Visa or Mastercard is not widely accepted at all places. and some shops only take Cash but does not have change for larger notes that the ATM's give you.
the Beach front restaurants mostly do take Visa/Mastercard and most CBD hotels. but the further you stay/travel outside Luanda most places only take cash(small notes) and local bank cards.

A normal, chaotic big African city - more expensive than most. Relatively safe to walk around downtown during the day; take care at night. If you need to be there for business, it's better than many 3rd world cities. For tourism, not much to see/do in Luanda. Airports are normal: Completely chaotic

Roads improved a lot . City is relatively clean.
Roads improved a lot . City is relatively clean. You can find good restaurants along the seaside. Taxis are not easy to find so better book a driver. Before arrival it is better to book transfer with a hotel. Airport taxis can be very expensive.
A very comfortable, clean and well-located apartment. Wilson was an excellent host, replying to my numerous questions promptly and allowing us to check out late - he also speaks English! The apartment has good security but we didn't feel unsafe in Luanda - we walked all over the downtown area and had no issues. There are a couple of small supermarkets nearby, and plenty to do - walk along the Marginal, spend a day at the beach clubs on Ilha, visit the Iron Palace, the Fort (and Forteleza Shopping Centre), several museums, etc.
The hotel is right next to the beach and the people are friendly and very helpful. The staff tried to accommodate every wish. The rooms are quite big and the amenities were impressive. Beds are very comfy and internet works well. It is a popular place for locals to eat, drink and relax during weekends. If you need a safari, a tour of the city or just an airport shuttle, the staff can provide the services or grant assistance.
This hotel is well-located in the heart of the city center. The views are lovely. The hotel is immaculate. It is expensive but they gave us a tremendous value by upgrading our room. I have never seen staff so friendly and kind. They are attentive without being intrusive, willing to do anything to make us comfortable and safe. The restaurants and breakfast are very nice. I hope I will have the opportunity to stay here again.
I had big misconceptions about Angola. I was impressed arriving 19 o'clock in hotel that is private security, very gentle people. Next morning breakfast.
Ana was wonderful in all the support and communication. Great location also to walk till center and water promenade. I've couldn't choose better, especially that Luanda is famous for hotel prices that have nonsense
The hotel is in a good location, 10 mins from the city center by car.. Is friendly and warm. I liked very much the art exhibited, particularly Dali's mural. and the local masks. I only ate once at breakfast and was good. Staff are very friendly. The Roof Bar/Terrace, is unfortunately no operational now, but it is a nice place.
Great value for money hotel. Clean room with good AC and a comfortable bed. The staff were excellent and spoke great English. They were able to arrange a massage for me as well. I felt completely safe. It was nice to have a restaurant attached to the hotel. The food was OK. HINT... Check the fresh fish they have each day.
I stayed at this hotel for a mini honeymoon, staff was friendly and the room was big and comfortable, I spent most of my time out so I didn't get to enjoy everything else. The breakfast is generous in my opinion. Unfortunately, the pool was in maintenance during our stay.
It is an expensive hotel, but it is relatively new. the rooms are very nice and the staff very nice. The food is very good. There is breakfast, lunch and dinner, with an acceptable price. The area is nice but there is not much to explore.
This was one of those rare experiences with budget accommodation in Africa where everything worked, the host was great, the space was comfortable, the airport transfer was on time, and it could not have gone better!
Best value for money in Luanda. The staff are extremely friendly and the manager is great at what she does. Highly recommend this place will definitely be back.
I think efforts should be made to diversify fruits at breakfast. As the hotel is in Angola, some typical dishes from Angola could be introduced into the menu.
