Hidden Gem in the Balkans – Tirana is a Must-Visit!

Hidden Gem in the Balkans – Tirana is a Must-Visit! Tirana is such a vibrant and welcoming city! I was amazed by how full of life it is — colorful buildings, lively cafés, and friendly locals everywhere. Skanderbeg Square is a great starting point to explore, and from there you can easily visit the National History Museum, the Et’hem Bej Mosque, and the Pyramid of Tirana. What stood out most to me was the atmosphere — relaxed, creative, and full of energy. The Blloku area is perfect for trying local food and enjoying the nightlife, while the Grand Park and Artificial Lake offer a peaceful escape in the middle of the city. Prices are very reasonable, and it’s easy to get around on foot or by taxi. Whether you’re into culture, food, or just discovering something new, Tirana is one of those cities that leaves a lasting impression. I’d highly recommend adding it to your travel list!

Staying n Tirana always a great experience for me.

Staying n Tirana always a great experience for me. There are only few must-see attractions, but walking in Tirana is wonderful. The modern building are varied, light, and cheerful, and fit in well with the old houses. The green parkes and streets and the mountains surrounding the city offer a pleasant view.

Tirana is a hidden gem, although the traffic is horrible, there is pollution and everyone smokes openly. Its still a lovely city with modern building, bohemian neighbourhoods and a lovely mountain (Mt Dajti)

Tirana is a vibrant, colorful city with great food, great people, lots to see, easy connections to the rest of Europe. I loved visiting the city, eating great seafood, lots of healthy salad options now, enjoyed the Bektashi places, mosques, and plenty of churches to see as well. I had a great time there and can't wait to go back.

Great city with great cheap restaurants, and everything else. Traffic is real bad, so don't try to drive in the city. There are no parkings either. Now, the air pollution is terrible - just be aware. You may not experience it right away, but you will at different times of the day. Bring euros and dollars and exchange them for the market value, instead of using banks and ATMs. Use the city/local buses. It's only 40 cents a ride. Their pastries are probably better than Paris' pastries, and they're not loaded with sugar.

The city itself was safe and walkable with varied, eye-catching architecture. We enjoyed the affordable but high-quality restaurants and the lively bar scene (particularly in the Blloku neighborhood). However, we would recommend renting a car--even the locals said you should leave the city for a day trip or two. Although the traffic getting in and out of the city can be death-defying, and you can actually take a taxi to some closer must-see attractions like Bunk'Art 1, we had out greatest experiences in Albania driving to smaller cities (Berat was breathtaking), beaches (Dhermi is a long, thin beach hidden sheltered by an impressive mountain range), viewpoints (like Petrela Castle, which overlooks Tirana from afar), and--our favorite--a village winery (Kantina Shehi).

The location is A1 for the city centre attractions, Tirana is a busy city and hotel is a calm and relaxing oasis...the staff cannot do enough for their guests which makes the stay even better. The restaurant side of the hotel is temporarily being re structured, as from the 30th April, which is a shame as the food we had was A1. This hotel is a must for future visits. A special thank you to Azis, Ladio, and Endri , as a good system only works when the teamwork is in sync...

Breakfast is great and with the nice weather, you can have it on the terrace. Very quiet, sound proof rooms so you are close to the airport but won't hear it. Great spa services and nice food. Didn't try out the pool but it looks very enticing to take a swim. Free airport shuttle that can be ordered ahead of time. Cooperation with a local taxi company so going into Tirana is only 10 EUR. Definitely the best hotel I have stayed at in Albania - would recommend!

I had a brilliant stay in this hotel which can't have been open very long. Well worth the upgrade to a room with a balcony with city centre views if you get the chance. The staff went to great levels to keep me happy during my stay, including sorting out some laundry with a quick turn around. Affordable, modern and spacious room. Short walk to Skanderberg Square (City Centre). Will definitely seek this hotel out if I return to Tirana.

Very nice hotel directly at Skanderbeg square. We had a nice room with a comfortable big bed and a very clean bathroom. The breakfast buffet is delicious with good coffee. You can walk to all the attractions in the city centre. There's free parking in the back yard. Very friendly staff and good communication. We had only half a day in Tirana and loved to be in the city center for a reasonable price. Would definitely come again!

Great location, really nice hosts who checked us in and gave us a great tip for a restaurant - best food in Albania so far! Walking distance to all the sites and city centre but nice and quiet in the evening Parking is secure and underground. Apartment itself is modern and has a washing machine and space on a small balcony to hang
