This is not just a hotel, but a place with a soul. The owner is an incredibly sincere person with a wonderful attitude, making you feel like a truly special guest. The atmosphere is unforgettable, and the service is top-notch. The restaurant offers exceptionally delicious cuisine! I would especially like to mention Goni and Joti – their service was a pleasant surprise; they create real comfort and set the perfect mood during dinner. Breakfast is also very tasty, and the waiter who served it was extremely friendly and attentive. The hotel is in a great location – just a 3-minute walk to the sea, with a supermarket nearby. Here you truly feel cared for and surrounded by a special atmosphere. It was a vacation that will stay in your heart.

Our stay in Ksamil could not have been in a better place. The hotel opened 2 weeks prior to our arrival but everything was perfectly set up for our stay to go perfectly. We stayed in November so we were totally aware it was out of season and there would be limited options. We enjoyed the quiet streets and there was still a small selection of restaurants open. We also went swimming, the water was cool but still enjoyable. For us Ksamil was perfect in November but I would caution that you must be prepared for a very relaxing and quiet experience.

Ksamil is emerging as a tourist destination & the centre of the town at least seems to have opted to cater for those who prefer loud music / water activities on the beaches. That said, there is a good selection of bars & restaurants both in the centre of the town and on the main road into it. The hotel in which we stayed (Area Hotel) was excellent. Public transport is ok - there is a bus every 30 mins to Sarande or Butrint BUT it is packed & an experience in itself! Fares are 150 Lek (1.5 euro) each way. Taxis are available but cost approx 30 euro each way. Although card payment is accepted in most restaurants / hotels etc, it seems as though cash is king in Albania. Local currency (Lek) can be accessed once you're in the country by changing euro at one of the many exchanges.

Ksamil is a very beautiful resort with numerous stunning beaches and crystal-clear azure waters. There are plenty of quality restaurants offering delicious food at reasonable prices. The only drawback is that almost all beach spots are paid, meaning you need to pay for sunbeds and umbrellas. The cheapest spots started at around €15 for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella, while more premium locations charged €30 to €40 per set. Luxury cabana-style spots could cost up to €70 per day. Almost everywhere accepted euros, so it was not necessary to exchange money into the local currency. Alternatively, you could pay in euros and receive change in the local currency (Albanian lek). On average, €1 was equivalent to about 95–96 lek.

The beaches are extremely beautiful and clean.

The beaches are extremely beautiful and clean. Renting sunbeds/umbrellas can be quite pricy. If you go in the afternoon they would charge you the same price on some beaches. Driving in Ksamil can be quite hectic. The streets are quite narrow and not all the streets have pavements and on streets where they are present either they are taken up by shops or else the people do not use the land walk in the middle of the road. Be careful if you are driving there especially during rush hour and parking is not easy. The restaurants are really good. We tried a lot of them and the food is delicious and most of them have very reasonable prices. We were always treated nicely from the staff.

The people are amazing.

The people are amazing. They are all friendly and acomodating, and almost everyone speaks great english. The food is delicious! We went to several restaurants and all the food is great. Butrint national park is a must see. Although I highly recommend going there early (before 10 AM) to get a parking spot. Otherwise you will park 1 km-2km away and walk in the sun. The infrastructure is horrible. There are too many hotels and the roads are narrow and there are no or very little sidewalks. It is dangerous to walk around with small children because in august it was filled with cars that were driving too fast on those roads. Driving inside Ksamil and between Ksamil and Saranda is a nightmare.

We loved the rural, rustic, authentic location and atmosphere within walking distance to what might be the best (or maybe: only) nice beach at Ksamil (little noise, clear water, no concrete desert). Don’t expect a high class accomodation. But if you like a little bit of albanian hospitality and are more on the backpackers‘ side: go for it.

This was the highlight of our trip in Albania. The staff were friendly, helpful and caring they even gave us an ambrella when it rained. The brekfast was traditional and fresh and delecious. The hotel was modern and nice. The lociation is perfect, the beach is 5 minute a of walking and there are several restaurants and shops nearby.
