I love small hotels, few guests and the feeling of being close with both the hosts and other guests. This hotel was a 10/10 experience in this respect. On top of it the food from the breakfast and the restaurant is excellent. Most notably: the host Xeno. He is a professional and genuine host that invites you to be hosted and I can only recommend being open to his suggestions.

After being left with no shelter by another guesthouse (our original reservation) in 23:00 at night, because they didn't comply with the services it had claimed to offer, at 23:20 we made a super last minute reservation for the night in Berat Mozaik Hotel, and an adorable sir left his house in the middle of the night to come to the hotel, take us in, take care of us and restore our previously broken faith in the country's hospitality. There are no words to express our gratitude. The room was new-built, comfortable and clean, the sheets and towels were very clean and fresh (smelled wonderfully), the bathroom was equipped with everything we needed, the host was so kind and helpful, even that late in the night.

Berat is a Unesco World Heritage site so well worth the visit. Tourism is increasing dramatically! I recommensd the free Guru Walking Tour with an informative guide to understand the history of the place. It's 2 hours and well worth it (pay what you feel it's worth). The castle at the top of the hill is almost another town in itself. You can walk up but I recommend a taxi! The views over the countryside are beautiful and there's lots of places to eat and drink. You can spend several hours up there alone! Two days in Berat aught to do it!

We spent two nights in Berat, one in a commercial hotel in...

We spent two nights in Berat, one in a commercial hotel in the new part of town and another in a quaint hotel in the old town. This made all the difference as the old town has so much character, its wonderful to walk around the old houses, many of them restored. There's always something unusual and historical references are found written on the walls. The expansive views found in Berat are unforgettable.

The castle walls on top of the hill are excellent to visit, but the experience is let down slightly by all the cars entering the castle grounds. The old town area is nice for a short visit, but not as extensive and "used" as other similar towns. The food in the restaurants ( outside the old town) was very good and reasonably priced.

Berat is know as village/ town of 1000 windows.

Berat is know as village/ town of 1000 windows. There are 2 area of the old town which are on both sides of the river. It worth just wandering the streets of both old towns. The view from the castle also gives a different perspective. A beautiful old town with so much character. Plan at least 2 nights so you have at least one full day but 2 would be better.

Berat is fun to wander around in, with the castle on top of the hill still occupied as it was hundreds of years ago. The reason to go to Berat is the architecture and wonderful setting. Lots of good restaurant choices.

The town had so much to see and was absolutely beautiful.

The town had so much to see and was absolutely beautiful. The Ottoman era area was preserved amazingly well, as were the other parts of the old city. There were nice stores. The old city juxtaposed well with the modern era shopping and walking street that ran along the canal and a park where the town residents were out gathering in the evening. I recommend an overnight stay.

We stayed here for one night and honestly, it was amazing! The hotel is right in the center of Berat, and from the moment we arrived, the hosts were super friendly – they explained everything, gave us a quick tour, and even handed us a parking card (the parking is just a 3-minute walk away, so no stress there!). The rooms were beautiful, decorated in the charming style of the city, and the breakfast in the morning was delicious. The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming – if I ever come back to Berat, I’d definitely stay here again!

Our favorite hotel in Albania! We were welcomed with such warmth and thoughtfulness – even picked up from the parking lot with a buggy. The hospitality was truly exceptional and made us feel right at home. We had a lovely evening and a relaxing overnight stay. Breakfast was delicious, and the view from the terrace is absolutely stunning. A place we’ll remember and definitely want to go back when we're in Berat.

Nice traditional hotel in central Berat, close to all amenities and the river, also on the way up to the castle. Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast is a very small traditional Albanian breakfast. The parking is very limited in Berat but the owner kindly helped us to get a space near the front of the hotel despite being a last minute booking.
