Staying at Berati Castle Hotel was truly one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. The service was outstanding from start to finish, and the location is incredibly charming—set within the historic part of Berat Castle, yet everything inside the hotel Is new. The breakfast was abundant and very delicious, offering a wide variety of fresh, local options. The dedication of the staff truly stands out, especially Adriano, whose kindness and constant attention to guests’ needs made the stay exceptional. His warm attitude and professionalism added a special touch to the whole experience.

Amazing: imagine staying in a real castle with a view of the majestic Tomorr mountains. This was one of the greatest hotel experiences of my life, and I have been to many countries. The castle hotel has a very charming traditional look to it, and the staff are absolutely wonderful. The castle hotel is located inside the fortress of Berat, built between the 4th to 13th centuries. The fortress is stunningly well preserved and highly deserves its UNESCO world heritage status. It is filled with quaint traditional restaurants, cafes, shops, and stunning panoramic mountain vistas. Hotel Klea has its own restaurant and bar with delicious traditional food, especially the generously sized breakfasts.

Berat is a Unesco World Heritage site so well worth the visit. Tourism is increasing dramatically! I recommensd the free Guru Walking Tour with an informative guide to understand the history of the place. It's 2 hours and well worth it (pay what you feel it's worth). The castle at the top of the hill is almost another town in itself. You can walk up but I recommend a taxi! The views over the countryside are beautiful and there's lots of places to eat and drink. You can spend several hours up there alone! Two days in Berat aught to do it!

We spent two nights in Berat, one in a commercial hotel in...

We spent two nights in Berat, one in a commercial hotel in the new part of town and another in a quaint hotel in the old town. This made all the difference as the old town has so much character, its wonderful to walk around the old houses, many of them restored. There's always something unusual and historical references are found written on the walls. The expansive views found in Berat are unforgettable.

The castle walls on top of the hill are excellent to visit, but the experience is let down slightly by all the cars entering the castle grounds. The old town area is nice for a short visit, but not as extensive and "used" as other similar towns. The food in the restaurants ( outside the old town) was very good and reasonably priced.

Berat is know as village/ town of 1000 windows.

Berat is know as village/ town of 1000 windows. There are 2 area of the old town which are on both sides of the river. It worth just wandering the streets of both old towns. The view from the castle also gives a different perspective. A beautiful old town with so much character. Plan at least 2 nights so you have at least one full day but 2 would be better.

Berat is fun to wander around in, with the castle on top of the hill still occupied as it was hundreds of years ago. The reason to go to Berat is the architecture and wonderful setting. Lots of good restaurant choices.

The town had so much to see and was absolutely beautiful.

The town had so much to see and was absolutely beautiful. The Ottoman era area was preserved amazingly well, as were the other parts of the old city. There were nice stores. The old city juxtaposed well with the modern era shopping and walking street that ran along the canal and a park where the town residents were out gathering in the evening. I recommend an overnight stay.

I had an amazing stay at GrandView Hotel in Berat! The breakfast was absolutely delicious with plenty of fresh options to choose from each morning. The hotel/restaurant is in the castle of Berat which overlooks the town and the mountain. Staff there are some of the friendliest we have met and were extremely accomodating. The food was the best we had in Albania and we chose to eat there both nights of our stay - we also very much enjoyed the homemade wine. The room booking includes breakfast which is delicious and very generous. We could not reccomend enough, if you stay here you will have a wonderful time.

Beautiful traditional Albanian home which has been converted into a hotel with four bedrooms. The restaurant at the hotel appears to be very popular with guests and locals alike which is always a good sign. The owners and staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable. I would highly recommend this hotel which is very close to the Gorica Bridge so in a great location for Berat.
