the location is perfect for climbing Chirripo, you can hire transport to the beginning of the trail for $12. Bernan and Shirley are great hosts, they provided valuable information about local sites to visit. Food was great every time. A mention apart is the "Jardín" itself, it is just a pleasure to walk in the trails and see different plants and beautiful flowers.

The host is such a nice women, which made is a very delicious breakfast. It is the perfect between the countryside and being fast at other areas to do a little hike. The kitchen is outside and is pretty basic but have everything you need. We are much into wildlife and were very happy about an armadillo and a lot of different birds in the garden.

The place is an ideal starting point for the Cerro Chirripo hike. Parking your car here while you are on the hike is allowed at no extra charge which is definitely a plus. It was possible to adjust the time of breakfast so that we could make an early start. The rooms are simple, but good size and the beds are comfortable. Washing machine was not mentioned in the description, but there is one and we could have our laundry done for a reasonable price.
