The luxury tent also features outdoor fireplace and a picnic area for a day out in the open. The property was amazing, what you would expect for a "glamping" experience. We had our privacy as the rooms aren't in close proximity to each other. Amazing waking up in the morning and the wildlife passes by your room.

There is also a seating area and a fireplace. Everything that you need for a perfect weekend getaway. The tent is more spacious than expected, with a well equipped kitchen and two sizeable rooms. The unit was immaculately clean, with fresh linens, towels and extra blankets provided. The wood fired hot tub was a fun experience! Located on the lovely Gowan Valley Guest Farm, a gorgeous property where you can enjoy spectacular river views and forest greenery (the short Forest Walk through the property should not be missed!).

Boasting a garden and views of garden, Highbourne Cottages is a recently renovated chalet situated in Winterton, 10 km from Monks Cowl Country Club. The chalet, set in a building dating from 1940, is 34 km from Winterton Museum and 50 km from Spioenkop Nature Reserve. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. We stayed at Protea Cottage, which is well-equipped and comfortable. It's located at the end of the R600, near the entrance to Monk's Cowl area of the Drakensberg. You can access many nice trails directly from the cottage. The view from the porch is glorious, especially at sunset. Cathkin Park is a great location, and we easily filled our 6 days there. We went ziplining, hiking, swimming in the streams, horseback riding at uShaka, and saw the Falcon Ridge Bird of Prey show. We unfortunately missed whitewater rafting and the Boys Choir show. Leslie communicated thoroughly ahead of time about check-in and other details so there were no surprises. We also loved that it was off the grid, but with the solar panels, who noticed? The kitchen had all the necessary items, including a camp toaster and a French press for coffee. Lindsey and Brett don't live on site, but they stopped by a couple of times, and they were friendly and helpful. Their caretakers were there daily and kept everything in good order.

Beautiful views, with peace and quiet of the nature that you want to just unwind. The cottage is spacious and well thought lay-out, with views nearly 180% views.

Set on the banks of the Tugela River, 22 km north of Winterton, Tugela River Lodge features self-catering accommodation 13 km from Spioenkop Nature Reserve and 22 km from Winterton Museum.

All units have a kitchen, a private bathroom and a terrace or balcony with views of mountain. Some units feature a dining area and/or a patio. We really enjoyed our time at Tugela River Lodge. There’s so many things to do within the property like kayak, mountain bike, trails, and little farm area. It’s very clean and the staff and owner are super friendly and always willing to assist. The farm stall has a lot of supplies, so if you forget anything you wouldn’t even need to drive out. Very pet friendly as well - everything we could do with our little mini dachshund. She loved her time there and the fenced off area is big and safe. The wood-fired tub is an amazing way to wind down. The view is amazing and Bheki always comes to help fire it up ahead of time. All in all a fantastic experience as a couple, and I’m sure it’d be lovely for a family and friends group too!

The accommodation features a spa bath and a hot tub. The chalet has family rooms and facilities for disabled guests. Beautiful river view in a peaceful setting. The hosts were friendly and attentive.

Riverbend Chalets (Gold Crown Resort) is set within the scenic Drakensberg Garden and boasts views of lush landscapes and the majestic Drakensberg Mountain Range. The resort has a restaurant, children’s playground and outdoor swimming pool. I love the fact that there is games inside the facility. And karaoke night was very entertaining and we very much enjoyed ourselves

The lodge offers a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with free toiletries, a hairdryer and shower. A fridge and microwave are also available, as well as a kettle. Amazing nature around, great garden to chill and a lot to explore in the garden, the accomodation is very spacious and you have everything you need for cooking. Very warm hosts, we really enjoyed our time there and highly recommend it!We had a lovely time!

Featuring a bar, Greenfire Drakensberg Lodge is located in Kruisfontein. The property is solar powered and offers Canadian-style log cabins. Guests can enjoy views of the surrounding mountains and nature reserves. Beautiful location with stunning views and nice walking trails. The cabins were very cosy. At night it got quite cold, but there was a fireplace in the bedroom and the staff put warm water bottles in the beds. The meals were great and so were the staff and the dogs! We had a great time here, highly recommended!
