The location is perfect, right on the hiking trail to Gocta waterfall, with a beautiful view of the falls from the property. The village is quiet and peaceful, surrounded by nature. Mario is an exceptional host — he knows everything about the area and made us feel completely at home. He even made us a delicious homemade pizza with a purple corn crust — everything organic and full of flavor. We saw hummingbirds in the garden and many other beautiful birds around the property. It’s a great spot for bird lovers and nature lovers in general. If you’re coming to Cocachimba, don’t hesitate — Casa de Mario is the perfect place to stay!

We could not use the natural water pool as we were in winter season, but it looked very inviting. The staff all from the local village is very friendly and they served one of the best breakfast in Perú.

The food was excellent. This hotel is close to the gondola that goes to Kuelap. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Shower was nice and hot.
