I can't really say enough positive things about Amanda and Les, and their beautiful property. They were exceptionally welcoming, and cooked us a delicious meal (South African-style braai), for dinner - which had been arranged beforehand. They (and another guest) joined us for dinner, and we all shared stories and laughter. The property is a bit of an oasis of peace, with glow worms to view at night, for those who wish to seek them out (they're fairly close to the main buildings - try the Night Sight setting on your camera). The bed was extremely comfortable, and we enjoyed the best sleep of our journey. All in all, a great experience...and a great overall value.

Hollard Gardens is 15 km from Platinum Lodge, while Tawhiti Museum is 35 km away. New Plymouth Airport is 46 km from the property, and the property offers a free airport shuttle service. Great location with a view to Mt. Taranaki (if you are lucky that it pops out of the clouds :)). Nice breakfast, the owenr is super friendly and has such a cute dog Rusty. Spa bath was a welcome addition to the room.

Tudor Motel is within a 10-minute drive of both Hawera Golf Club and Te Ngutu Golf Club. New Plymouth and Mount Taranaki are a 50-minute drive away. The motel is a 1-hour drive from Wanganui. Had no meals, but location perfect.

Wonderful location within walking distance into the town and to the park and the sea. Ensuite was very nice and the shower was great. Quiet at night. Laundry facilities were excellent. The lady running the place was lovely and very helpful.
