Probably the best stay in Sri Lanka. We arrived earlier but were welcomed by the kind family with smiles, coconuts and we could already use the pool! The garden and pool are well maintained and the lodges are beautiful. The modern room had AC, mosquito net and hot water. As many accommodations in the area the price is very cheap because they can arrange a safari tour for you: the truth is we were not disappointed with it. We had breakfast right after the early safari, the best we had in Sri Lanka, with many local homemade delicious options. We recommend trying their dinner too, you won’t be disappointed! Maika lodge is only 10min walking from Udawalawe and had also many dining options nearby. We wish best of luck to this beautiful family and strongly recommend staying with them!

Best Safari guide ever, Nandu (guide and owner of the property) was very nice and calm. Drove us to a lunch place and took us back so we don't have to walk in the heat. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Owner showed us many different animals that we never seen before, very interesting experience. The dinner family made was delicious also.

Owner him self managing the service perhaps, such a nice person with calm behavior. They booked our safari for us and truly made it a memorable stay.

Very kind owner! location is very convenient and safe. Helped arrange a driver to national park of udawalawe, packed us a lunch to go and had tea and coffee. hospitality at its peak.

Great location, a bit off the beaten path but very comfortable, great huge bed, no mosquitos. Super shower! Our hosts cooked great food for us, we got the best breakfast during our 3week stay in Sri Lanka. We also went on a super full day safari with Sujee, was a highlight of our trip, saw many elephants!

An amazing guest house with three rooms, and a large common area, located at the foot of dramatic and lush hill. We managed some very nice birding just sitting in the garden. A truly relaxing setting in nature. The staff was very friendly and efficient, and the meals were delicious.

It was great to meet him and to know a bit more about his life and the place. He made all the decoration himself and everything is very original. The place had everything we needed, it was quiet, clean and comfortable. Also very affordable. Michael can propose you some affordable safari tours if you ask him. Thank you for your hospitality
