Amazing hotel with lovely pool and great food. The staff were exceptionally kind and friendly. There were a lot of beautiful trees and flowers surrounding the pool. The bathrooms are external to each little bungalow which means u can see the trees when u shower. All very tastefully designed

Our stay at Rock Shade Chalet was a truly amazing one. The ambience was super special. The facilities are of high standards. The environment was very calm. A lot of birds, including peacocks, were in the garden. Lasantha is a very nice person. He was always attentive to our requirements. They made special meals at our request.

The place was clean and cozy, not far from the main attractions. The breakfast was very good. We saw monkeys on the trees Just in front of the house. The owner was very nice and he even helped us to plan our day and provided a driver for a good price.

The location was good and at the moment you step in you feel like in a botanical garden. Many beautiful plants, flowers, birds, parrots, monkeys, squirrels, it is like living inside the nature and we loved it. The room was extremely comfy and clean, the owner was attentively cared for all our needs. We also arranged transfer and Tuktuk with them on fair prices. The breakfast was delicious and had many variaties.

Beautiful small hotel with swimming pool. Large rooms with AC and ceiling fan. Mini fridge. Hot and cold showers. Hosts were extremely helpful. Short tuktuk drive to lion rock. Hotel arranged safari half day trip where we saw loads of elephants as well as a day trip to polonnaruwa ancient ruins in a jeep and gave us a tuktuk rides wherever we needed including early morning to lions rock. Breakfast was amazing, home made fresh every morning, tea, coffee, toast with butter and jam, fresh fruits and some local sri lankan breakfast items which varied each day but were all delicious. Provided bottle drinking water and pool towels. Right in the middle of nature with 100s of birds in the garden. Short walk to multiple restaurants.

Honestly, the absolute highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka! Out of all 7 weeks in Sri Lanka our 3 nights here were the best, and it was 90% due to this Homestay!!! We felt amazingly at home! Chamika was WONDERFUL. He hiked up to pidurangula with us and brought us surprise coffee in a coconut, and didn’t ask for anything in return! We did a cooking class and ate some of the best food ever, and chamika went to swim in a lake with us! The room was as exactly as described with comfortable beds. The breakfast was amazing everyday and just laying on the rock with a view of the lake was stunning! Overall if I could rate this place 1000 stars I would! Thank you guys so much!
