Everything was perfect! The location was great for us, close to train station and just 20-30 min walk from Bowness (closer if you take the bus) and close to trails we wanted to do and to buses that take you to Grasmere/Ambleside etc. We spend 4 days hiking around and it was perfectly located. Breakfast was really complete and delicious with different options to choose. Room was spacious, clean and luminous with everything you could need. The staff was fantastic, the owners sent us detailed information on restaurants and trails around before the stay that was really useful and appreciated. I travelled with my sister and just to say that we will choose the same place to stay if we come back to the lakes.

The breakfast was served in the room and you could choose the items beforehand from a very vast list. It was superb! Beatrix-room was the most beautiful room I've ever slept in. Everything was neat and clean. The garden is a dream come true. David was very helpful and nice. The house is located near the shops and restaurants and the lake. I could have stayed in Puddle Duck Lodge forever!

The refurbishment was to a very high standard. The location and facilities were excellent. Trevor was a lovely man who was extremely helpful and he went out of his way to ensure that we had an enjoyable stay. We will return in the future.

The Briscoe Lodge is located in a very quiet area close to the heart of Windermere: nearby, you will find shops, bars, restaurants and bus stops. The railway station is just a few minutes walk away. Graham, the owner, is one of the kindest person I have ever met. He is always ready to help and gave lots of advice about places to visit and which hikes to take. The place was really clean. Furthermore, the continental breakfast offered was really rich, including bread, jams, Nutella, yogurts, fruit juices and hot drinks. Finally, I would highly recommend this place and definitely would come back again!

A great family location with everything you need for a break in the Lakes. Only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Bowness, with parking available on site. Great for dogs, with the gate and fencing giving a secure garden, with room to roam.

The property was lovely - clean, very comfortable, with a great location between Ambleside and Windermere. It is opposite the Brockhole Activity Centre and jetty where you can catch the boat for tours on the lake. Easily accessible by public transport with a bus stop almost on your doorstep. The lane behind the property connects directly onto one of the popular walks in the area so it's perfect for exploring the area on foot, as well.
