Beautiful views, clean, very nice staff.

This was my favorite part of my trip in Costa Rica. It is magical here and I hope I have that chance to visit again. My only regret is not staying longer. I had the breakfast one morning, which was lovely. The facilities are minimal. This is easily managed if planned for. There is no fridge in the little pod I stayed in, but there is a microwave. The microwave was enough for me to have a couple small meals. People have mentioned more counter space would be nice. I found it good enough. I had my things organized under the bed. Having the travel packing pods was useful. It is remote, and I suggest bringing in your own drinking water. I didn't get sick or anything, but as a precaution, that is my advice. There are lovely outdoor seating areas. I traveled with a small collapsible chair. It was great for this location, as well as when I visited beaches in other parts of the country. There are great knock off versions of the helinox chairs. If you bring one for your trip you won't regret it. This place is very special, and I offer these little tips so that you can enjoy this accommodation as much as I have. I cannot express enough how beautiful and magical the location is with the surrounding jungle covered mountains. For context. I am a solo female traveler. I felt very safe in this remote location. I had a suv rental from Adobe (very excellent car rental). I didn't need the 4wd, but had it been raining, then I likely would have used it a bit. Definitely need the high clearance on the vehicle. There was only 1 spot that required the clearance when i visited. I used the downhill assist when driving into the valley. That was very useful, and easier on the brakes. Driving back from Santa Elena in the dark was fine for me. Thank you to the hosts for having such beautiful and unique accommodations.

•One of the finest stays in Monteverde, full of small details (like gratitudes) that make it outstanding. •Very private, fully equiped and the deck with the jacuzzi is great! •You have access to a look out at the property with sunset views. •There are two more cabins in the property that look amazing as well.

The accommodation is beautiful, situated high on a hill with the most breathtaking view. Ricardo, the owner, puts a lot of love into the property and it is very well maintained. He has gardeners come in everyday for maintenance and the villas are cleaned daily. The villa itself is clean, lots of light and has everything you need. Large king sized bed thats comfortable, chairs to sit outside on the balcony and enjoy the beautiful view, the kitchen is decently equipped. You could hear howler monkeys in the morning which was really cool! The pool area is gorgeous, a perfect place to relax and watch the sunset after a long day. Lots of parking area. If you want beautiful views, then expect to drive uphill on some windy roads to get to this accommodation. It only takes a few minutes and is a two way street so it should in no way defer you from staying here. The road is mainly paved. To access the villas you need a key to the gate which is some added security. If you want peaceful tranquility in a beautiful villa and sorroundings, this is for you!

Beautiful location on a hillside with beautiful views. Excellent facilities, e.g. woodburner for chilly evenings, lots of kitchen equipment (blender was great for smoothies). The owner's aunt living next door was very helpful too

Wow... Staying at La Muñequita Lodge is so much more than just somewhere to sleep. It´s like entering a new, exciting, relaxing, friendly world - with a lot of animals, exotic trees and flowers. The hosts are superfriendly and helpful. The house was spectacular. Basic in one way, but exclusive in another. One detail is that I really loved the wooden floor. So soft for your bare feet. Delicious breakfast and dinner. It was very interesting to hear the hosts history of how they ended up here, and take part of their future plans for their small business. We could safely park our rental car here while we spent three days in Drake Bay. It felt much better than park it by the harbour. The hosts really have big hearts and you leave with a better belief for the humanity. I can strongly recommend to stay here. I will be jealous of everyone of you that will.
