Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails also features an on-site bird sanctuary that has around 500 different species of birds; other recommended activities include tours of Arenal Volcano's lava flows, exploring the several nearby waterfalls, or climbing the 28 m. (92 ft.) wildlife observation tower, The Nest. Arenal Lake is an excellent site to practice sports fishing. There are also 11 km of walking trails throughout the property, or guests can just relax in the hot tub or have a massage in the spa. Location is actually in the protected natural reserve. 350 hectare park contains well designed flower park full of colibris, primary forest, water fall. We stayed in a separate building, with direct view to Arenal and the forest: at the morning, one could watch all the birds: tucans, colibris etc. You have to walk through a hanging bridge to ghe restaurant, which has a marvelous view. The hotel organises free walks on the marked forest tracks, one can see buttetfliea, frogs, birds, spider monkeys. There is a 20 m metal tower that rises above the trees. When we were in the tower, a group of monkeys passed below us. Swiming pool and jacuzzi is right in the forest. Restaurant is fine. Upon arrival, towels were organized into a snail shape 😁

Boasting inner courtyard views, Yarumo Lodge, Río Celeste Black Chalets provides accommodation with patio, around 16 km from Rio Celeste Waterfall. There is a private entrance at the chalet for the convenience of those who stay. The chalet features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Yarumo Lodge is truly a beautiful and peaceful place and we feel lucky to have stayed in this gem. The place was very well kept and spacious. Listening to the wildlife literally in the backyard was amazing. Our hosts were super responsive to our questions and generous. Highly recommended!

There are SO many great sodas and places to eat at in town, we didn't necessarily want to pay for included breakfast. The kitchenette was perfect, and we could re-heat leftovers etc, but it really felt more like staying at our own place. We hardly saw another person (staff or guests, but we know they were there!) the whole time, and it was so peaceful. Staff was very responsive to questions via Whatsapp, and the instructions for getting in and out of the gate/ parking area/ keys etc were very clear.

If you have the opportunity to stay here, please take part in the night tour - it was truly one of the many highlights of our trip; we learned so much about the jungle and it's hidden wonders! Breakfast was always so delicious and they were incredibly accommodating to my partner's celiac disease and provided gluten free alternatives. Overall, we had an incredible time here, what a special place. We will never forget it!

At the lodge you will find a restaurant serving Latin American cuisine. A vegetarian option can also be requested. This was our second stay at Rincon Verde and were so excited to come back! The setting is absolutely stunning. We saw monkeys, toucans and countless other birds! We had lovely breakfasts and Victor and his wife are so kind and welcoming.
