The room was simple but very clean, comfortable, and tranquil, with stunning views of Lake Titicaca. The hosts were kind and welcoming, and the meals we had there were homemade and delicious. When touring Lake Titicaca, spending a night or more on Isla del Sol is an experience you don’t want to miss. Trust me! Visitors should know that life on the island is calm and rustic — there are no cars and you’ll be walking up and down steep paths — so come prepared for simplicity and peace rather than luxury. If you embrace the slower rhythm, this place is truly unique and unforgettable.

The place is conveniently close to the Temple of the Sun (Pilkokaina). We arrived via a Bolivia Hop ferry tour that stopped at Pilkokaina port, followed by a walk up the steep hills to the accommodation. It's a bit away from Yumani village, approximately a 25-minute walk. Be cautious when walking back from late dinners in the village, as there are no streetlights. The owner kindly prepared a simple dinner of trout for us. They have a kitchen where you can boil water and use the microwave. The view from the accommodation was phenomenal, offering us the most beautiful sunrise views right from our bed. The night sky was incredibly clear, allowing us to marvel at the stars and Milky Way.Breakfast was delicious, featuring eggs and fruit. The heater was provided, ensuring our comfort during cooler evenings.
