Subtle lighting at night adds sophistication and allows the wonderful view of Philae temple [of Isis] to be fully appreciated. The adjoining Solaih Nubian restaurant offers authentic menu using local ingredients - be sure to order at least a day before. We used Whatsapp to list our food selection and our choices were all prepared for our visit. It paid to be adventurous and the addition of lentil and spinach dishes with meat options, was flavoursome. Portions are large. Only the bread disappointed somewhat. Remember to take mosquito repellant as this saved us - there were quite a few around even in December.
