easy to reach, even without a 4wd, after the heavy rains the days before there was a lot more water than expected, but everything was green and nature was exploding. A birders paradise, but you see a lot more animals and plants. The excursion/game drives were just great, we did book them at the lodge, but we took every chance to go out with Hayden, to see the huge biodiversity of iSimangaliso. Great to hang loose at the pool area, but hard to make a nap, so much to hear and see. Food is very good and the location the best in iSimangaliso, very relaxed atmosphere.

Extremely clean and comfortable. Everyone was lovely and very helpful. Great location, restaurants, shops, mobile services, laundry, etc, close by. iSimangaliso Wetlands and Indian were lovely and close by. There was even a Hippo that walked the streets at night! Plus, plenty of monkeys Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Reserve about an hours drive away, another great location. So much to see and do. Highly recommend this accommodation and location!

The Sunset Lodge was absolutely perfect for us. The owner, Shelly was very helpful and friendly. We felt like we were family immediately. She gave us good area information, maps and tips and made our booking for us for a hippo tour. The setting is magnificent overlooking the estuary. Sitting on the lawn in Adirondack chairs watching the sunset sipping wine was awesome. The lodge is at the end of MacKenzie St so it was very quiet but easy to drive or walk up to the shops and restaurants. The staff were all very happy and friendly. There is a large outdoor fire pit to sit around and to cook on if interested. Great for chatting with other friendly guests. WiFi was challenging as the whole town was down for a few days but Shelly kept checking to get it fixed. I highly recommend Sunset Lodge
