We had our first safari there and it was amazing. Russell was a fantastic guide and you can take great pictures. If you have a room there, then you can join tours at special times. We also where at the elephant experience, which was impressive and heart-warming. The pool at the waterhole is very relaxing, watch out for the hippos. Everything is very professional and has a touch of luxury. Great restaurant as well.

We are a family of five and we stayed for three nights in a beautiful, very spacious and clean tent at Africamps. We had a wonderful view on the little lake and enjoyed the sunset with a glass of wine. The ordered braai- and breakfast baskets were great and I would recommend doing this south african style barbecue. We also participated in a meerkat safari, which we loved.

We only booked for one night and regretted it after the first 10 minutes. Len and the team are wonderful, we felt at home immediately. The small cottages with the rooms are beautiful, it's quiet and the view is wonderful. We had a lovely dinner and a fantastic breakfast. The pool and garden as well as the entire grounds are perfect for relaxing. Next time we'll stay longer!

Breakfast was amazing, some of the best we had on the entire journey, beautiful location, super friendly staff, rooms were amazing, very well stocked, equipped, surroundings were superb and overall experience was the best of a 3 week trip, pity we could not stay longer, but will be back for sure, thanks everyone!

Everything! The host Richard is the most charming, warm host I have ever met. The property is perfectly situated in a very safe, quiet upmarket area. It is quiet and feels like you are out on a farm, yet so close to town that you can take a refreshing walk. I heard some lions in the mornings from a game reserve nearby. Simply lovely. The facilities were more than adequate and I had eveything I needed and more!!

Only 10 km from the famous Cango Caves, De Poort Country Lodge offers self-catering accommodation. A continental breakfast is available on order at an extra charge and only available as room service....

The cozy little oasis is beautifully designed, and we felt right at home as soon as we arrived. The moment you pass through the lush driveway and enter the property, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. Elna, the lovely host welcomed us with such kindness, immediately providing us with all the tips we needed for exploring the area. She even helped us out with a small request right away, which truly saved our stay. Elna embodies the essence of South African hospitality, the kind of person you’d love to have a friendly chat with. The rooms are cozy and perfectly equipped, complete with a small kitchen, making them an ideal setup.
