The lodge is very peaceful, surrounded by nature. A perfect getaway spot not far from Johannesburg. The chalets are fantastic and spacious with all necessary equipment. We had very warm bedding and heaters for winter, plus a fire outside during dinner. Hastings, the lodge manager was absolutely delightful and so accommodating! He made our stay a very special one! Levy, the chef served beautifully plated breakfasts and dinners with very generous portions. We hiked around the lodge with free roaming animals (blessbok, monkeys, various birds). A truly wonderful experience! We would return in a heartbeat.

It was a great break away from home close to home. It felt like you were taken away from the rush and fuss of the city. The animals were very gentle but even though most of them ran they were beautiful. The view from the balcony was a wonderful one indeed and also had a place to lay down and/or sit down and eat. The staff were kind in helping pack and unpack the room when you came and left the also provided a rulebook so you can be aware of every thing that could harm you or the animals at the lodge. The place was fantastic with a neat area to stay in. Gazing at the stars on the balcony was just as wonderful as the place. Over all the place was one of the best lodges we have been to.

Everything was absolutely perfect. This was not my first visit and I would definitely go back again. The fireplace in the winter, with load shedding, is the highlight along with a giant bathtub. The deluxe cabin really is ideal for a romantic getaway. The breakfast and dinner portions are very generous as are ALL the staff. The place is starting to feel like home.

Clean, spacious room with privacy and adequate facilities. What you see in the pics is what you get. The host, Gabriel, was much, much more than excellent!! We enjoyed his company and hospitality more than the place itself which is already excellent. He communicated well and attended to us as his guests. The hike is short but challenging.

We made our own breakfast but otherwise wre impressed with the nice welcome, the communication and the location very much, eveyone was very friendly, we could see the goats, the quietness, the lovely view and walks, always had access to the pool and will hopefully come back this year.

The location is great , but It was very cold and raining during our stay, but of course they couldn't do anything about it but they provided thick blankets in the closet and an electric blanket to stay warm. There is also a rechargeable lamp for when you have to go outside, ideal because it is pitch dark in the evenings since it's in the bushes. Owner is on site and reachable at all times and very helpful, he even recommended some great places to visit.

Surrounded by nature on the banks of the Magalies River, Valley Lodge & Spa features individually decorated rooms, an indoor pool, a floodlit tennis court and hiking trails.

Everything went perfect. From the Special Requests to the Requests that just goes with 5 Start Bookings, was included. When I asked for something "Special" we did not only get Special Campaign, but Towels also Folding and Rose Petals in the Room and Bathroom, we even received this at Dinner Table, etc.
