Since arrival in Hoedspruit Airport and pick-up by Kapama staff we were blown away by the quality of service. The Kapama pivate game reserve itself is hard to describe, the nature, it's smells and sounds are another dimension. The co-existence of animals and people, the respect from rangers towards flora nad fauna within the reserve - it makes you rethink your way of living. Kapama River Lodge is one of the best resorts we've ever stayed. Number one is the people, who are working there, number two is the quality of food served in restaurant and the rooms are large, beautifully designed and spotlessly clean. Our tracker Fanie and driver-guide Happiness made the 4 ride's unforgettable. They were not only professional and friendly, but they shared their knowledge, interesting facts and stories about flora and fauna in Kruger. They were not only chasing the Big 5, but did so much more. We can't wait to return someday, thank You!

All meals were excellent, the game drives were superb and the personal attention by staff allocated to us was super. However the first haldf we had to share the game drives with another couple - it was far better when we could go on our own later in the stay

The staff made the difference in our stay. From the care preparing our breakfest to go for the safari to the warm welcome of Jeffrey, everything was perfect. The property has lots animals such as hippos, zebras and giraffes and it was amazing seing them so close. The dinners were spetacular! They made a south african barbecue in a beautiful set up by the fire place (even with the rain). If I ever come back to kruger, I would definetly stay at Phelwana.

I am not get in use to review hotels even been a traveler more than 25 years experience with booking been genius traveler with them, but in this occasion it deserve to thanks the amazing experience my wife and me had in this unique place In the world , if you are looking for a first experience in a safari here it is. For our honeymoon I expend more than 4 months searching the most convenient place for our safari and to get it right in this way means happiness , even though its the rainy season , we’ve been able to see the big 5 and even more , the amazing experience to has to be escorted out of the room at night by a guard to go dinner and see a leopard 500 meters away of your room the same night , the amazing staff always smiling , the variety and quality of food , the room is fantastic with a comfortable and huge bed , I am sure there should be more luxurious lodges but the prices are crazy and is important to understand that you can’t walk to much due to the wild life , relation quality price top top no doubts .

Everything. Room was brilliant with modern, beautiful fixtures. Stunning views. Staff were amazing. The game drives were out of this world. Seriously, couldn’t have been better.

We thought we were only going to crash for a night after a long flight and before starting a safari the next day, but we were absolutely mind blown by how amazing everything was. Perfect location in the middle of what is called "Wildlife Estate" which gives you a chance to see wild animals strolling nearby (we almost saw all the same animals we saw on the safari strolling around the lodge), this is an astounding place with a beautiful room which makes you feel you're in a dream! Last but not least - Ruan and Jenny were very friendly and informative on things to do, and even gave us recommendations about Cape Town which was our next stop. For a small fee, we pre-arranged dinner (which was delicious and cooked by one of their chefs) and transfer from the Hoedspruit airport as well. Communication was easy and Ruan was very responsive. It was such a shame that we only spent one night - had we known how calm and beautiful it all was, we would have 100% extended our stay. So sad to have left but I rave about it. There couldn't have been a more perfect welcome to South Africa.
