During our trip on the Garden Route, we wanted to go sharkdiving, so we intended to pass by Hermanus. However, upon finding Benguela on Booking, we decided to pass by Gansbaai instead. What a great choice that was! We could book a sharkdiving experience via a recommendation of the hotel and had a wonderful stay too: (i) our room had a pool view and was spacious, (ii) the property lies in a very quiet neighbourhood, so although the pool lies next to a road, there is no noise as there is no traffic, (iii) the owner Jonathan is an excellent host that manages to find a good balance between his guests’ privacy and the social angle and (iv) the dinner he cooked for us and the rest of the guests was excellent - it was also a nice experience to meet some of the other guests and hear about their backgrounds and travels. We would definitely recommend!

We stayed here overnight after our whale watching boat trip. Tranquail place overlooking the bay. The staff, the manager and the owner were super friendly and welcoming. The family suite was comfortable, open to the property little garden and swimming pool. It would have been an even lovelier place in summer. Wish we could stay longer

This hotel was so beautiful - the pictures don't do it justice! Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, room has the most incredible view, rooms are clean and modern. Located opposite the beach where we watched whales and orcas. There is a quick hike to a cave a couple minutes drive away. About 10 minutes from town where there are a few restaurants and most activities (whale watching, shark diving etc). Breakfast was exceptional - warm options, great coffee and a great spread. Cannot recommend this hotel enough.

It was so nice to stay at Blombos waking to the sound of farm animals. Lovely views towards the sea from the large verandah. It is a big, comfortable house equipped with everything you may need. Loumy and Mathilda very friendly hosts.
