Nice staff. Housekeepers and waiters was kind and friendly. Good location very close the beach. The hotel is located in a beautiful environment. I stayed 1 month here. The kitchen is very good! They make delicious meals!

Blue Reef Accommodation is one of those rare places that instantly makes you feel at home. Thomas and Nicky are incredibly passionate owners, and it genuinely shows in every detail. The vibe is much closer to a homestay than a hotel—warm, personal, and welcoming from the moment you arrive. The team deserves a special mention. They are exceptionally well trained, and you can clearly feel the difference in service quality and speed. Compared to many restaurants and stays across Zanzibar, the service here is on another level. A big highlight for me was the cocktails—absolutely top-notch. They easily match the quality you’d expect from a good bar in any major city, which is especially impressive given how challenging access to ice can be in Zanzibar. We stayed here over New Year’s Eve, and it turned out to be one of the best New Year celebrations I’ve ever experienced. Soft live music, a special dance performance by the staff, and a beach BBQ created a magical and intimate atmosphere rather than a loud, commercial party. We didn’t personally go on the fishing trip, but heard excellent feedback from other guests. Since the owners themselves conduct these trips, I can imagine they’re very thoughtfully done and special. The accommodation can arrange everything—from taxis to activities. For excursions, they collaborate with local agents, so those experiences are more standard. If you’re looking for something more exclusive, the fishing trip seems to be the standout option. Overall, Blue Reef is perfect if you’re looking for warmth, great service, excellent food and drinks, and an experience that feels personal rather than touristy. Would happily return and recommend it without hesitation.

The breakfast was super delicious and fresh, the staff made you feel like home and the views were absolutely stunning. The place itself was peaceful and we loved that it wasn't crowded with tourists. Cannot recommend enough!

Great place to stay in a lovely part of the island. Super relaxing & away from the hustle of other parts of Zanzibar. The staff are so kind.

Perfect place to explore the parc. 200m away. Very reaxing place. Friendly helpful staff. Very good food. Good variation freshly prepared. You can sit outside and watch monkeys coming by. Got even an open fire for enjoying the evening outside. Simple rooms but all there. Tour was organised for me with a knowledgable guide. I would like to mention that there is a weavery close by with old manual machines. Very good pricing for the handmade coton items. That was for me the Souvenir to take away. Will always remember the monkeys around the open house.
