We loved the apartment’s central location, situated on the corner of two pedestrian streets, in the centre of Funchal. The apartment was a short walk to the seaside promenade along the marina and to many wonderful historical attractions in the old town, amongst an abundance of restaurants, cafes and charming squares. Although centrally located, the apartment was surprisingly quiet at night, and the double glazed windows and blinds provided us with a comfortable and restful sleep. We found the apartment was well equipped with all amenities and we enjoyed a wonderful stay.

The welcome was amazing: we were met by a clean apartment and the owners left some nice welcoming gifts for us! The location was also great! It was close to Funchal, had a lovely view from the balcony, and a lovely bar next door. Lastly the property itself was clean, reasonably modern, had a heated pool, working appliances such as the washing machine and A.C., and comfortable beds.

The location, forest, Encumeada, road, views, people, locals and visitors, all felt so calming, relaxed, like floating above the buzz at the coast. The private waterfall was spectacular, compared to the crowded public locations. We were looking for a secluded cottage in the woods and this place was a perfect fit. (cherry on top, we were alone at the location until the last night and the weather was perfect whole stay)

We liked staying in Sao Vicente - a small city with everything you need at hand - restaurants, bakery and stores, a convenient location to visit the North of Madeira. The house is very well equipped and the terrace is very nice.
