We stayed in the cabins/small houses on the top of the hill. Very clean with comfortable beds and a huge bathroom. The place is very quiet and has fantastic views. A small but very nice pool is literally just steps away. Walking up to the cabins from the reception/restaurant area takes only 5 minutes and if you need to, you can always ask for a transfer by a golf cart. The food at the restaurant was very nice. We will not forget the evening view of the waterhole teeming with so many animals, including the rhinos, progressively turning into extraordinary sunsets. Very friendly and helpful people working here. One of the best experiences we have had in Namibia.

Absolutely stunning. Great location on our way to Etosha. The landlords are very kind, attentive to the guests' needs, and going a long way to meet them. The chalets are clean and comfy. Great breakfast and dinners (kudos to the landlady/chef). No problem with later check out.

Offering free WiFi and a garden, Sophienhof Lodge is situated 10 km outside of Outjo. Free private parking is available on site.

The accommodation and the staff were outstanding. We booked last minute and they were able to accommodate us. If back to Namibia I would definitely book a longer stay!!

Such a nice place!!! In the middle of nowhere, with nice sunsets, friendly dogs, that show you the way for some hiking around the nearby mountains. GREAT dinner! We got a huge steak (grilled) and so many different and costly vegetables to go with it. They also upgraded our room, without asking. Highly recommended!!

The place is spectacular – in the middle of the bush, surrounded by peace and tranquility. The perfect spot to escape for a few days and unwind after a busy stretch. We did several activities with the rhinos, and the experience was a 10 out of 10. The staff is lovely, and every detail is taken care of. The food is incredible – some of the best we’ve had on the trip. The work they do with the rhinos is admirable. We learned so much, and it’s clear the caretakers are fully dedicated to the animals. The rooms are simply a dream! It was our honeymoon, and this was the perfect destination to end the journey. Highly recommended for at least a two-night stay. We had high expectations, and it still exceeded them. Without a doubt, we hope to come back soon. Thank you to the whole Kifaru team – it was an unforgettable experience.

A literal oasis in a very hot dry area. Attractive chalets. Lovely pool and lapa. Met with welcome drinks. Fabulous staff. They packed lovely breakfasts for us and made a lovely fire. Really very pleasant.

Staff was amazing, we stayed for one night and spent the whole day and night at the bar near the pool just talking shit with the bartender Russell and the guests. The owners son George hang around with us as well and was great company. The place has a cute dog called Diesel and many dachshunds and cats that you can pet all day. Drinks are cheap (30N$ for a draught beer) and the pizzas and the cheeseburger were amazing. Really a highlight of our trip to Etosha, I would definitely recommend this place for even an longer stay than ours!

We felt we were part of the family. Very friendly and lovely host, nothing is hassle, brilliant help and guide for Etosha. The dinners were the best, homemade food and the guest lodges had beautiful views. Really enjoyed our stay there
