The chalet was superb, much better than expected with a beautifully decorated interior. I especially loved the bathroom tiles with their African theme. The chalet comprises a bedroom, bathroom and a sitting room with a balcony and a view of the bush. All facilities are available in a well appointed room. The food, both for dinner and breakfast, is of a high standard. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. It all made for an extremely pleasant stay at the Cheetah Conservation Foundation, a most worthy project.

With mountain views, Okonjima Plains Camp is located in Otjiwarongo and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace.

We loved the place. We were upgraded to the bushcamp for free, that was a pleasant surprise but I can’t really comment on the plains camp. The activities however were really good. We loved the leopard tracking. Even though the leopards have a radio collar, tracking them is not as easy as I thought and is quite fun. The gamedrive lets you also see many other animals, including springboks, zebras, giraffes, impalas, wartdog, orix, mangoose, birds… Also, the visit to the AfriCat carnivore center was really interesting, we had a feeling they really care for their animals and conservation efforts. Both dinner and breakfast were amazing!

Offering an outdoor pool, barbecue and sun terrace, Aloegrove Safari Lodge is located 40 km away from Otjiwarongo. Some units have mountain and some have savanna views.

Pretty, peaceful place with amazing views. The room had all the comforts we might need. The highlight of our stay was the game drive, not only because of animals we saw, but also due to our guide (the owner in this role). Fantastic stay.

Very friendly staff. Good game drive available. Other activities can be booked here (e.g. visit to Cheetah Conservation Centre). You can go for a bush walk on your own, written instructions (+map) provided. Good observation deck to watch wildlife in de early evenings and mornings.

A lovely place to decompress after a stay in Etosha Park. The resident giraffe, ostriches and variety of antelopes provide gentle entertainment at your door. The food was lovely and the common spaces nicely decorated. If you need to get back to the world, there is excellent wifi in the rooms. It is just off the main road back to Windhoek which makes it an easy stop, but feels like you are in the heart of nature. PS the photos on booking do not do it justice. Get a room with a patio (luxury room) where you can watch the animals and sunset.
