Our host was incredibly hospitable and went out of his way to meet our every want and need. He drove us and picked us up, suggested activities, and helped us out in an emergency when we needed to go to the local hospital. The rooms boast amazing views of the jungle, which is full of fireflies at night. They also have a projector so you can stream entertainment of your choice. 10/10 I strongly recommend Fern Hill cabins for your stay in Ella.

Absolutely brilliant, I'm so glad we read all the reviews and found this hidden gem! What a great place, it will definitely keep getting amazing reviews so don't think twice about booking it! Some reviewers thought it was 'out of town' which we thought was hilarious, it's a couple of minutes walk down to the action, but with the reassurance that you can retreat to a peaceful jungle like setting with a really good chance of seeing the resident giant squirrel. Charming, chatty, helpful host who welcomed us with lovely coffee and cake, we felt very spoilt! He organised a very good taxi to the South Coast for a much better price than other places. Thank you so much, you made the trip to Sri Lanka very special!

Lovely cottage style room with a everything you need. Great value for money. Best view of Nine Arch Bridge in Ella. Nihal and his beautiful family are locals who built and run the place. He will drive you anywhere you want to go in his tuk tuk and his wife makes a great local breakfasts. About 10 mins drive to town which means there's no noise from the loud streets and bars.

It was my second time to Nethsara cottage. It is a lovely place. Its looked much better in real that on the booking pictures and you will get much more that you pay for it. The food its delicious and always so big portion ;) you can not finish the whole portion. The lady who its running this place its super nice. First time I reached the location by a small car and second time by tuk tuk :) if you are looking for a quiet place with nice view close to the main Ellas street thats the right place. Very recommended.

We had a amazing stay here, the rooms are very new, good water pressure and very clean. You can enjoy a nice view from the balcony. This family is so so kind! The house is very private and has a super comfortable bed with klamboe. They made diner for us which was the best food we had! The breakfast was also way better then other places! Do not hesitate to book here, it is peaceful and just perfect :-)

Look no further for a fantastic stay in Ella with the most breathtaking views, the kindest most genuine hosts, and fantastic proximity to Ella village and any adventure you can dream up. The owners Renu and her husband are one of a kind people, they fed us the most delicious, healthy Sri Lankan breakfast - every step of the way I felt so cared for. They even helped us arrange tuktuks to town, and offered to send a taxi to bring us from Weligama to Ella (although we didn’t need it). Renu made personalized recommendations for Ella adventures, at night we slept like babies, and rose to watch the sun rise from the cozy bed. 2 nights was way too short here - next time we’re in Sri Lanka, we’ll spend much more time here and will definitely do their cooking class and more.
