I had a truly wonderful stay at Fern Hill Cabins. Located high on the hills above Ella, the property offers breathtaking mountain views that made every morning feel like a scene from a postcard. Despite being just 10 minutes' drive from Ella town, the cabins are tucked away in a peaceful and private setting, allowing for complete relaxation while still being conveniently close to restaurants, shops, and local attractions. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always available to assist with anything I needed and full of great local recommendations. One of the highlights of my stay was the authentic Sri Lankan breakfast served each morning. Flavorful, fresh, and a real treat for anyone wanting to experience true local cuisine. If you're looking for a place that combines comfort, nature, warm hospitality, and convenience, Fern Hill Cabins is the perfect choice. I wouldn’t hesitate to return!

We loved everything about our stay here 💚 the staff are incredible and go above and beyond to ensure you're happy and taken good care of! The location is prime - in the hills and far enough from the main strip to enjoy the scerenity Ella has to offer! The room was lovely clean and spacious and the pool was an added bonus we never knew we needed! The breakfast was delicious, offering a variety of local favourites, fruits and eggs! We can highly. Recommend this special property and the fabulous staff 🤍

Everything was superb and it was probably the best sunrise of our lives. That morning is absolutely among the top-ten travelling experiences together with for example, the Great Barrier reef, Rio de Janeiro, Kyoto, the Victoria Falls and sunset at Ao Prao beach at Koh Samet. The view from the balcony (and the bed) was spectacular. We sat on the balcony from 5.30 watching the sunrise over the mountains accompanied by the monks soft and humming morning prayers, truely magic. We then had a wonderful breakfast served at our balcony with the greatest of views. Thank you for being so welcoming and for taking so well care if us. Next time we will, for sure, stay for more than one night.

Tantra Ella Lodge is a very unique place close to city center of Ella in very peaceful and silent area. You feel like in the middle of the forest as everything you can hear after you wake up in the morning are birds, frogs and other animals. The view from terrace is beautiful and this place is nice for morning meditations as we did it. The owner is very kind person willing to help you with anything he could. We've met almost all family members - they are super honest and open hearted people. We felt and have been treated like a family members. So far this was the best accommodation service we've had in Sri lanka. This accomodation is new and the room is very nice, clean and comfortable. This experience was the biggest surprise for us and if we could, we would have stayed more nights. We stayed 2 nights only. Big huge THANK YOU!

Amazing private relaxing spot with unbeatable view of nine arch bridge. Hosts were amazing and cooked a wonderful breakfast every morning. Short Tuktuk drive to main town but was very nice to be away. Was very peaceful. Hosts were great at assisting with recommendations and taking us to places. They were so kind and generous. Would definitely come back!

It was my second time to Nethsara cottage. It is a lovely place. Its looked much better in real that on the booking pictures and you will get much more that you pay for it. The food its delicious and always so big portion ;) you can not finish the whole portion. The lady who its running this place its super nice. First time I reached the location by a small car and second time by tuk tuk :) if you are looking for a quiet place with nice view close to the main Ellas street thats the right place. Very recommended.

Everything was just perfect!! We have been there for 4 nights. Devaka and his family have been so nice and the food (breakfast & dinner) was really good. Devaka took us to a tea factory which was very interesting and also gave us a lot of helpful tips for the hikes and other stuff to do around. Room was small but had everything, also very confortable beds. The shower was also hot, what is very nice when it‘s a bit colder. The place was perfect, far away from the chaotic Ella but close enough to the train station. Thanks again to Devaka and his family. Highly recommended to stay there!!

Location, facilities, attentiveness, team attitude. Everything was on point! So may great details. The kids did a macrame class which they loved! Mum got an amazing ajurvedic treatment. Dad got peace to do his thing. The perfect family getaway. Also we loved the friendly dogs and cats :) And the food!!! The best breakfast!!!

Waking up to the most breathtaking view and having a wonderful breakfast served was such a treat. The atmosphere and surroundings off this place is unbeatable. The family has done a fantastic job with the terasse with recliner chairs and dinner table all to enjoy the view. We had dinner here every night - it was the best we have had so far on our trip. Wonderful and so helpful family. We will have to come back to Yolo again .
