Our stay at this accommodation was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a fresh coconut, which was such a lovely gesture. The place is incredibly clean and beautifully maintained. The hosts are extremely accommodating and make the stay as pleasant as possible. They are genuinely kind and warm-hearted people. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a perfect and memorable stay. We will come back!

We stayed in the tree house one night and it was just beautiful, as the house is really unique in its construction. The host family was super welcoming, greeting us with a 0km breakfast and garden tour. The location - amid the forest - is slightly far from the main road, we would recommend a motorbike or tuktuk. Totally recommended!

Quiet, nice and brand new hotel. Stuff is extraordinary kind, the food was brilliant. If I ever meet the owner, i'm going to ask him who planned the bathrooms :) Honestly we had nothing to complain. On top area around the infinty pool was the perfect place to chill after a long day! Make sure you take a tuk tuk to the beach and go swimming with turtles, best expierence during the whole vacation!

Wonderful place close to the beach, but still quiet and secluded. The hosts are super nice and helpful. Several bungalows are hidden in green, vast area so you feel isolated from other guests. The pool is great :). Breakfasts are diversified, so every day you can try different meal. Walking distance, 3 min., to Midigama center. We will most ceirtainly come back!

This is a gem in the area and the best accommodation we had in all Sri Lanka! Super clean, delicious varying breakfasts, very comfortable and spacious rooms, and extremely friendly and helpful hosts. We wish we could have stayed longer! The wifi was fast enough to work and do videocalls and it was nice to have access to a little kitchen too.

My recent stay at Charming Dark Lodge in River was nothing short of exceptional, marking it as the best homestay experience I have ever encountered. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that exceeded all expectations. The highlight of our stay was undeniably our incredible host, who spared no effort in ensuring our comfort and satisfaction. From delicious lunches and dinners to delightful surprises and the most mouth-watering fish barbecue - probably the best meal I have had in the two months I have been in Sri Lanka. Beyond the culinary delights, our room was a sanctuary of comfort and style. Immaculately clean, equipped with a kitchen containing everything one could possibly need, and beautifully built and decorated. Originally intending to stay for four nights, we found ourselves captivated by the charm of Charming Dark Lodge, extending our stay to twelve nights. Departing was bittersweet, as we had grown attached to the unparalleled hospitality and the tranquil ambiance of our temporary home. A particularly memorable moment was celebrating my birthday during our stay. Our host went above and beyond to ensure it was an unforgettable occasion, adding a personal touch that truly made me feel special.
