As a solo female traveller visiting Siem Reap for the first time, I wanted to stay somewhere a little outside the main area but where I would feel both safe and relaxed. Phum Khmer Lodge gave me just that. My space was large, relaxing and peaceful. The bed was very comfortable and had a handy mosquito net you could pull down around it. The pool was beautiful and well-maintained.. and the whole property felt like a little oasis away from the hustle and bustle. Especially in the evenings with the sounds of the frogs and insects chirping away. Staff were fantastic.. they all remembered my name which made the experience more personalised, and went out of their way to be attentive (but not overly so as to be annoying.. just the right amount). Ate at the restaurants for two of the four nights I stayed, both nights I tried Khmer food, and both meals were delicious.. plenty of choice of other popular asian or Western dishes. Breakfast was tasty, and plenty of options here too, along with pastry and fresh fruits. They have a Tuk Tuk on standby for guests which is very handy, the Tuk Tuk driver, Mr T was lovely :) it's just short tuk tuk drive to the main centre of things (or a 20 minute walk.. which felt very safe). They can also help book excursions or tours (which I wish I'd known beforehand as one of my tours had let me down!). My only regret is I filled my time so much with activities that I didn't get to spend as much time relaxing by the pool or on the property as I would have liked. Would 100% come back here again, and would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful haven to retire to after exploring all Siem Reap has to offer. Defo try their lemongrass cocktail.. delicious!

What a lovely, peaceful spot. The staff were impressive: very young but so professional, polite and attentive. We enjoyed the pool surrounded with the plants and trees. Rooms are pretty and we slept well. It was easy to take a tuk tuk to the temples and the staff helped us to arrange this. It was something quite different and lovely to experience away from the hustle of central Siem Reap. Breakfast is simple but nice. For dinner we enjoyed the Cambodian Vegetarian rice dish :-)

I chose this accommodation because of the traditional wooden buildings. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious, having a verandah overlooking the pool was lovely and the downstairs area was good to escape the heat. The breakfasts were delicious and the staff were extremely helpful. We were sick at the time of staying at this lodge and the staff were so caring and helpful. They checked on us regularly, brought us ginger tea, and made sure we had food. If we hadn't lived in Cambodia previously and weren't as comfortable with the language and getting around, I am sure they would have done more for us. The staff are the kindest and most caring Cambodians you will meet and the accommodation is very good value for what you get. Because of the location it feels less touristy. Initially, I thought itvwas too far away from the centre but it's really only a short tuk tuk ride or a 20 minute walk. There are plenty of places to eat and visit over that side of the river.

All cabins in Siem Reap

Looking for a cabin?

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

This place is absolutely wonderful. We were a family of 2 adults and 4 children and had a perfect stay. The buildings and the rooms are beautifully appointed. The traditional Khmer wooden huts are very special. You definitely feel very close to nature which is remarkable given the inner city location. However, without a doubt, the most remarkable thing about this place is the staff. They are incredibly warm, welcoming and always seem genuinely pleased to see you. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It was perfect.
