Fantastic location, fabulous Japanese food and wonderful hosts who went above and beyond .

The room is fully equipped with comfortable surroundings, and its prime location offers excellent access to Nagano and Niigata prefectures, making it very convenient for cherry blossom viewing. The host is warm, sincere, polite, and thoughtful, providing us with a pleasant and welcoming experience.

Saki and Hayden were amazing hosts, made us feel very welcome. The staff were lovely and the food DELISH! Breakfast was different each day and super tasty. Japanese room was so comfy and cosy. Overall, a great stay and would come again

Even so I stayed only one night, I felt felt really welcomed from the first step in the Hotel. The owner was very friendly and warm. They cooked a very good dinner for me. After a perfect and silent night in the very cozy bed. I enjoyed a great breakfast before I was driven by car to the bus station by the owner. I can absolutely recommend this place.

The management was very lovely and helpful. They handled our ski lift pass with better price. Some facilites were refurnished couple of months ago, some shower has been added. Big shout out for Olivier who was a great host.

One of the standout features of Alp Bach Madarao is the incredible dining experience. The meals were nothing short of spectacular, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients prepared to perfection. Breakfast was great, lots of choice and even had a cooked hot breakfast. Staff went out of their way with their service.

This chalet felt like an authentic 'cabin in the woods' experience (which it WAS!). Such a nice break from visiting the hustle and bustle of Osaka and Kyoto, before heading to Tokyo. There was plenty of space, plentiful amenities, comfy beds and there is a smart TV with Netflix so we were able to find English language movies in the evenings, which was a hit!
