What a wonderful stay at The Old Lodge! Where to start? Absolutely unexpected, but we were utterly bowled over. A gorgeous, classic-yet-effortlessly contemporary rooms. A massive, extremely comfortable bed where the partner and I considered ourselves in different postcodes. Firm but fluffy pillows. Immaculate bed linen. A bathroom (including stand-alone bath!) to die for. The most fantastic of breakfasts - including a wonderfully considerate bespoke vegan selection for the partner - served in a gorgeous dining room overlooking South Common. All presented by the wonderful owners and hosts, Deborah and Gordon. Don't be daft and throw money at the Travelodge or one of the city's chain options. Do yourself a favour - just go see D&G!
