This is a gorgious place and highly recommandable. In the middle of nature (10min uphill from Gütembach, beware that the last 300m are not asphalted). Very large appartment with a large entrance with rattan sofa and a wood stove, open to the kitchen on one side and the dining room on the other. There are 2 sleeping rooms, a well equiped kitchen, a modern bathroom, and a very large living room. With a lovely view to the small valley, the house stands at the border of the forest (don't trust your GPS if it tells you to access the house THROUGH the forest, it can easily be reached from this point 48.064232, 8.160898). The welcome was very kind, and the communication throughout the stay very responsive.

Everything. The hotel was beautifully positioned on the edge of the forest walk to the Schlüchtsee. The room with the balcony was fabulous, staff were great, breakfast was lovely. The present of homemade jam when we were leaving was a lovely touch. The honour system for taking cold Rothaus beers as and when one wanted them was a delight.

Everything was perfect. Comfortable beds, good linen, the kitchen had absolutely everything we needed to prepare meals. The location was excellent and it was magical in the snow.

Really quirky, individual, eco property, crafted largely from wood, as the name suggests. Charming! The provision was excellent, down to a lovely full-bean coffee machine (beans provided generously, just leave a contribution in the tin next to the machine). The small terrace was peaceful and gorgeous to just take in the sounds of rural life - the nearby church tower, birds, and sounds of busy agricultural activity. Really lovely place. Next door is a vibrant and friendly pizza restaurant too - highly recommend a visit there if you're staying.
