Utterly utterly basic. Barefoot luxury without the luxury. The wooden planks which make the walls of the huts have spaces between them for ventilation. Nothing in the room except a bed (and mosquito net), a shelf and a table. Hammocks on the verandah and the sea is right there - wonderful. You get there by small boat (with outboard motor) from Nuqui - the tourist jetty is a short walk from the airport and the people where you pay your airport tax made sure we were passed into the care of someone who saw us onto the right boat. It took 50 minutes. Wear shorts - there is no jetty and you disembark by stepping off into the water. The kitchen/dining area has a low concrete wall around it and a tin roof. The food is simple but we thought it was delicious (lots of fish - ceviche, stew and grilled). The staff are lovely - friendly and helpful, and take care to speak simple Spanish to help us understand. We enjoyed whale watching from a small boat. All very simple and undeveloped. A perfect place for blissful downtime and going to sleep to the sound of the waves. Utterly utterly wonderful!

El Vijo is a paradise, I would especially recommend it for groups and couples. It is about a 20 mins walk to the next (very) small village, although the walk is not always possible due to the tide. Adolpho and Deude did an amazing job. The food was delicious and Adolpho very kind and helpful. As a solo traveller I would recommend somewhere else but for couples seeking tranquility or groups of friends looking for an amazing experience I would highly recommend it. Looking forward to my next stay there.

We have just spent 5 unforgettable days in Bahia Terco! Between the jungle and the ocean, we find this haven of peace! Claudia's kindness and Francisco's humor made this trip a wonderful one. Many thanks to Mirka and her fabulous cooking. Every dish from breakfast to dinner was perfect and above all local! Flavors you won't forget. In this place, we find Colombia as we dream of it, silence, nature. Francisco and Claudia helped us organize everything from the arrival from the airport, the activities, until the return. We shared moments together and an outing with them, to discuss everything, life, to learn from their daily lives! What happiness. We saw whales and the first swim of turtles! It is a place that I recommend 100%. If you are looking for a quiet place, with a heavenly beach, you have found the ideal hotel!! A huge crush ! Amis français, fonçez ! Oscar is a really nice host who also speaks english which makes it easier if you are not that good at Spanish. He can tell you a lot about Colombia, Nuquí and life in general. The location is beautiful, it felt like paradise. One day we saw dolfins just 50m away from the coast. Boats, trips (whale watching!) can be organized directly by the host. The two housekeeping ladies are so friendly and heartwarming - they prepare really nice food for you and even can handle vegetarians and intolerances. All in all Nuquí is the most beautiful place I have been to, there are only few tourists and you really get in touch with nature in a very special way. 10/10 experience!

A long wooden platform guides you into your castle away from any distractions. This place is a hidden gem in the middle of the jungle. The pictures completley downplay how amazing this place is. A perfect sanctuary away from busy life it gives you what you need ,rest and peace. As you walk back out of your castle on a long wooden platform there you find pristine beaches for surfing a "paradise " depending on the rain and the light" . The food is super clean , the cleanest i experienced yet. And the assortment and variety was great. I had a mix of papaya pinapples and fresh fruit along side a well thought out breakfast .It felt like this place was visioned and built by travallers. Function is beauty. I loved being able to take the bicycle wherever i needed and the hosts were kind and were always checking if there's anything i need.
