A selection of options including local specialities, fresh pastries and pancakes is served for breakfast, and breakfast in the room is also available. As an added convenience, the campground offers packed lunches for guests to bring on excursions and other trips off-property. Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The accommodation was beautiful clean, neat, and equipped with everything you might need, right in the middle of the golden sands. The breakfast and dinner were exceptional, and I especially loved the gathering after dinner with the other guests, sitting under a sky more beautiful than I’ve ever seen, filled with countless stars. We also enjoyed the resort’s trips , the camel riding was such a peaceful and authentic experience so was our visit to a Bedouin house, and the dune bashing was thrilling, with a sunset so stunning it felt straight out of a movie. The owner, Abdullah, is an excellent host always available and making sure everything is perfect. I definitely recommend this camp for its beautiful rooms, warm hospitality, and serene location surrounded by dunes. It’s a true desert gem, we are coming back sure.

For those times when you'd rather not dine out, you can choose to cook on the barbecue. From the moment we arrived we were treated to Omani hospitality at its very best. The thrill of driving over the sandunes to the camp and on arrival being served with hot/cold beverages along with dates, fruit and nuts. Our host Hammed is a charming man and delighted to give us insight into the traditions and history of desert living but also to melt away and allow us to enjoy our surroundings. Nothing was too much trouble even when on the morning of our departure we had a flat tyre. Everything was sorted for us. The tents were airy, with warm comfortable beds and beautifully decorated in a traditional manner. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and well maintained including the onsite facilities which included a cold! morning shower. As our dinner was prepared we watched the sun set over the sandunes. The food was plentiful (too much to eat), beautifully served and a dazzling array of different dishes served at both breakfast and dinner. After dinner we relaxed by the camp fire stargazing enjoying more tea/coffee, dates fruit and nuts while enjoying the stillness of the desert at night. If you are looking to experience the desert in a romantic, tranquil setting look no further - enjoy

A recently renovated campground, SAFARI-Glamping offers accommodation in Al Wāşil. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. Staff on-site can arrange airport transfers.

Featuring views of the inner courtyard, all units in the property come with private entrance and a heated pool. A balcony with an outdoor dining area and mountain views is offered in each unit. At the campground, all units include bed linen and towels. The staff is amazing. This camp is very little, only 8 persons and apparently mainly Europeans. We eat together for breakfast, lunch and dinner around a table. It’s very nice. There is plenty of activities and a campfire in the evening. The food was delicious and in abundance. I thought it was only breakfast and dinner, but as we stayed two nights we had 1 lunch included. Facilities are great (hot water, charging our phones, very comfortable bed, extra blanket at night). There are many activities organised for a fee - we liked the camel ride. We paid the extra 35OMR for the ride to the camp as we didn’t have 4x4 (definitely needed!). It felt a bit expensive at first, but the camp is very far and it takes time to reach it for the driver. This is actually nice because we had no noise from any cars or light pollution at night. The staff is very very nice, always there to ask if we want anything (eg tea, coffee, dates) and the owner is lovely as well. They shared stories about the desert with us, it was nice to hear!

Located in Wahiba Sand in the North Eastern province, Wahiba Bedouin Rustic Camp offers eco-friendly accommodations. It features private bathrooms, trekking activities and an authentic bedouin experience. We have spent an amazing time at this camp. The owner and staff were so welcoming and made us feel great. Most of the other camps on Wahiba Sands are part of hotel chains or resorts, so only here you can really experience and get familiar with Bedouin lifestyle, culture, stories, try traditional clothing, learn tradional dance etc. Also sunset and sunsrise on the nearby dune are breathtaking!
