Jassim and his crew know hospitality and will make your private desert stay a wonderful experience. You may believe this to be a once in a lifetime experience, but my heart is set on returning to the desert, to Bidiyah, and to Oman. The camp is the furthest one in the desert so we were very far from the town of Bidiyah and it’s light pollution- far enough away to see the beautiful night sky be-speckled with stars. The tent is well designed and faces east to capture the most beautiful sunrise you’ll ever see over the desert sand dunes. No match for what you’ll see on Dune or Tatooine. There were just a few tents at this camp making for a very private setting, with just a few friendly neighbors. The base of the camp is where we had meals. They prepared great dishes (buffet), and had vegetarian options too. After dinner, we sat outside with the few people at the camp and had some tea and conversation. There’s also an indoor swimming pool and sometimes there’s a fire at night. The camp also boasts eco tourism using solar cells and limits the use of plastics. It was very quiet (except for the winds). There’s a fully functioning open air, private, outdoor bathroom attached to our tent where you can shower under the stars. Keep in mind that you’ll be covered in a thin layer of sand and sometimes it gets very windy so some eye protection would’ve come in handy. Lastly, I highly recommend meeting the crew at the meeting point in Bidiyah and having them drive on the desert sand. Jassim picked us up, had great communication, and simply the most hospitable and nicest person you’ll ever meet. He stopped so we could say hi to the camels, take a few photos, and had a few laughs.

The accommodation was beautiful clean, neat, and equipped with everything you might need, right in the middle of the golden sands. The breakfast and dinner were exceptional, and I especially loved the gathering after dinner with the other guests, sitting under a sky more beautiful than I’ve ever seen, filled with countless stars. We also enjoyed the resort’s trips , the camel riding was such a peaceful and authentic experience so was our visit to a Bedouin house, and the dune bashing was thrilling, with a sunset so stunning it felt straight out of a movie. The owner, Abdullah, is an excellent host always available and making sure everything is perfect. I definitely recommend this camp for its beautiful rooms, warm hospitality, and serene location surrounded by dunes. It’s a true desert gem, we are coming back sure.

A recently renovated campground located in Bidiyah, Milky Way Domes features barbecue facilities. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area.

Some units include a terrace and/or a balcony with garden views and an outdoor dining area. At the campground, certain units are equipped with a kettle and chocolates or cookies. We loved Milky Way Domes. We booked the cabin which was great and enjoyed sunrise in bed! Ahmed and the staff are excellent, we felt so well taken care of and were so sad that we only booked for one night! The little Veranda in front of the cabin is great too for chilling and reading a book. Definitely go dune bashing too! Ahmed takes you out during sunset to watch the sun set over the dunes! Couldn’t recommend more. And it’s also a great thrill. 10/10 recommend!

I have been to 24-25 countries and I can say this confidently that there is no where Better,nicer and for sure not as hospitable as this place and their WONDERFUL hosts. For me and my family this was one of the best experiences that we could ever ask for,I haven’t seen people as kind as these hosts. They have perfect tents,so cleans like 5 star hotels and the food is perfect as good as the best restaurants. I can tell you that if you want to have an excellent experience with the best people that you can ever meet go to this trip. There is no amount of money wich would be enough that you could price this experience.

Hamed is a kind and gracious host who provided a magical setting and shared his culture with us. Hassan, the camp caretaker is an excellent cook and could not have been kinder.

At the campground, all units include bed linen and towels. We stayed one night in this absolutely amazing place. It’s about a 35-minute drive from the main road, and the journey to the camp is already an incredible experience. We stayed in a tent, which was super comfortable and for me, felt like pure luxury—having light, water, and other amenities in the middle of the desert. The tent is spacious, offering more than enough room for two people. It wasn't to cold in the tent at night (december). The area is beautifully set up with a cozy chill-out tent and a dining space. The staff, a group of young Bangladeshi mens, were incredibly helpful, friendly, and welcoming. They prepared a delicious dinner for us with grilled chicken, grilled camel meat, and several side dishes with rice—everything was absolutely flavorful. For breakfast, they cooked fresh Omani bread and a potato curry, which was tasty. In the evening, they organized a small campfire, which added a wonderful touch to the experience. The team does an excellent job and I hope they are well paid for their hard work! Additional activities like camel riding and more are available. This place is truly recommendable, and spending a night under the breathtaking desert stars is unforgettable.

Our tent was the cleanest place we’ve stayed in our entire Oman trip! The staff were really friendly and happy to help with anything. The communal area is super comfortable and the food is delicious - both breakfast and dinner! We stayed for two nights and the staff made sure we had some snacks for the hours in between breakfast and dinner too. Plus there is free tea and coffee, dates and little hazelnut chocolates which were yummy. It’s an authentic Bedouin experience well worth it.
