Yala Mobile Camping inside the National Park is situated in Katagamuwa. This campground features free private parking and full-day security. On clear days, guests can head outside to enjoy the campground's outdoor fireplace or simply kick back and relax. We initially thought this booking would be similar to other standard camping sites, but we were delighted to discover that this is genuine mobile camping inside Yala National Park—a truly unique offering. We understand that securing the necessary government permissions is a lengthy process, often requiring at least a week's advance notice. Although we made our reservation just one day prior, the team worked hard to coordinate everything. While this meant we had to wait a few extra hours at the main gate, the effort was absolutely worthwhile, providing an amazing, lifetime experience deep in the wild. We enjoyed a full-day and a half-day safari, and during both excursions, we were lucky enough to consistently spot leopards, elephants, and a wealth of other animals. The entire experience was incredibly rewarding, and we are 100% satisfied with our choice. Thank you to the dedicated team for taking such great care of us during our stay inside the park.

There is a seating and a dining area in all units. Beautiful stay that transported me away to nature. The camp was stunning, with amazing outdoor meals, wonderful trails, and comfortable and well appointed tents. Beyond the site itself, everyone there was so caring, attentive, and knowledgeable. The safari was AMAZING- fun, educational, and we were lucky enough to spot a leopard and even a jungle cat. This is thanks to a keen eye and ability to know where to go, which was also away from the really busy sites so it felt much more private and enjoyable than expected.

Barbecue dinner is provided around a campfire. Free WiFi is available in the public areas of the property.

Family tents are provided based on requirement. All tents are fitted with comfortable beds, mattresses and pillows. Free drinking water will be provided. All bathrooms are equipped with a Hot & Cold shower. The luxury tents were so thoughtfully prepared, with the softest fluffiest towels we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Great relaxation areas dotted around the property. Staff were exceptionally helpful, and we loved the dinner around the campfire, complete with linen table service. We really felt like we had stepped into a 5-star glamping experience.

The place is amazing, if you're really looking for the feeling of being on a safari, I highly recommend it! They offer outdoor dinner with barbecue preparation, and then a night walk, we even saw a porcupine! We booked the safari with them, you wake up at 5 in the morning and enter the natural park at sunrise. The tents are spectacular, very well decorated and with all the comforts. A car rental service is available at the campground. I agree with the previous reviews. The location is absolutely spectacular. Most definitely the most scenic view we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Its also very private and we had the beach and dunes virtually to ourselves and the other couple that were in the Dune camp. The food and the service was great. The tents are a bit dated, but the beds are very comfortable and all have nets. This is not super luxury but the price is also much less than the super luxury campsites. We would highly recommend this place. They also arranged the safari for us. We have heard horror stories re the jeep drivers at Yala but the driver they arranged was very good and mindful of not disturbing the wildlife.

Free private parking is available and the campground also provides car hire for guests who want to explore the surrounding area. Rivosen Camp Yala Safari was awesome! Manjula and Buddika smile’s were very contagious, always making sure we had everything we needed. They have few meal package options, and I highly recommend selecting one, because Buddika cooked multiple Sri Lankan dishes (vegetarian options available) for us and each of them were absolutely delicious. The camp is situated at the border of Yala National Park, therefore during our stay, we saw different wildlife crossing the campground. The location was also very convenient as it is only 15 minutes from the entrance gate of the park. Manjula kindly helped us to organize a Safari tour for the following morning. During our fresh up shower, we had many eyes watching us, as cute frogs and friendly geckos were co-habituating the bathroom. The bed was very comfy and the hotel-like linen were as white as we ever seen in Sri Lanka so far. This place was the perfect little nature retreat, and we loved everything about it. We were spoiled with delicious food, kindness from the owners and an amazing wildlife experience. Manjula and Buddika will do everything to make you happy.
