After reading other reviews, I recommend reading in advance what exactly you are booking. It's not a 5* hotel, but an eco camp. I had booked a simple room with a shared bathroom and that's exactly what I got. Common sense should tell you that cold showers can be unpleasant in cold weather and that hot water is not always available in an eco camp in this location. Because I read it several times: if you don't have a towel in your room, you can just ask for one 😉 .That's great and easy because you get one straight away 🙂 (or for anything else they will also go above and beyond to help you). In any case, I got what I booked... and also breathtaking scenery, the warmest all-round service from all the staff ❤️, cats without end, great local fresh food...and if I hadn't already awarded 10 points for that, then also for the free upgrade after the first night to a room with its own bathroom, hot shower and unobstructed view. Thanks to Hamid (the first person from Jemen I got to know 🙂) and his team for some magical days.

Therefore you really get the Jordanian culture experience! Host provided a guide to take us around Dana nature reserve. Highly recommend this. No real restaurant facilities in Dana so I would request that the Hobbit Village provide lunch/dinner.

Just 1 km from the Ottoman village of Dana and the start of the Wadi Dana Trail, the camp overlooks Wadi Dana and the Dana Nature Reserve. We had an absolutely wonderful time at Dana Eco Lodge. From the moment we booked, Ghaleb, the lodge manager, was incredibly responsive and professional. He confirmed our arrival details in advance, arranged a smooth pick-up, and helped us plan our hiking route with a fantastic local guide. The hike was a highlight — we saw unique local plants and herbs, and brewed tea like true Bedouins in a wide-open desert space. It was an authentic, grounding experience. The next morning, we set off on a different trail with the same guide, who was once again perfectly punctual and prepared, offering us fresh tea and warm conversation. Ghaleb truly goes above and beyond. He is attentive to every detail, and whatever he promises, he follows through without delay. For any conscious traveller out there, I want to say that this is the kind of projects we should all be supporting if we want to see the region strive and prosper in a sustainable and healthy way. Avoid going to the fake, “luxury” hotels in Wadi Mussa and instead give yourself a chance to support something that is worth more than anything else in the world: the preservation of this beautifully land and the culture of the people that have the right to inhabit it.

Orion's Wild Camp was such a great experience! The views are beautiful, and the whole place has a peaceful, natural vibe. I loved the tent setup and the friendly staff—Mohammad, our hiking guide, was especially great. The meals were a highlight too—authentic Jordanian food cooked over a fire, which made it feel even more special. Parking was easy, and everything was well organized. Perfect spot for anyone who enjoys nature and a bit of adventure.

Nestled under the rocks of Little Petra, the Seven Wonders Bedouin Camp is situated in the desert, a 10 minute drive from the Petra Visitors Centre. It has a restaurant and offers tent accommodations.... Very hospitable and friendly staff, very generous and helpful too. Simply a five star isn’t enough
