We picked him up and drove out to his camp not knowing what to expect. We were remote, away from the tours, with waves of golden sand at our feet. After tea, Beth and I walked the dunes to watch a lovely sunset. After a delicious tagine, we were surprised with a full moon rising and a sky of stars. The quiet was deafening, then broken with Berber rhythms from Larbi, his brother Nayim and friend Bryham. We danced by the fire and then shared life stories. We now have a new desert family.

The luxury tent serves a continental and vegetarian breakfast and breakfast in the room is also available. At Majorelle Desert Camp, the family-friendly restaurant is open for dinner, lunch and brunch and specialises in African cuisine. Absolutely stunning what these young guys managed to build there in the desert. Luxurious and very clean tents, beautifully decorated with nice carpets and cushions. They even managed to build a fully functioning private toilet, sink with running water and shower inside the tents. Mohammed, his brother and friends run the camp and have been fantastic hosts, very friendly, kind and funny. For dinner we had a wonderful meal of delicious zaalouk and other freshly made salads, the best beef tajine we have ever tasted and a lovely dessert. Breakfast the next day was also excellent. It was the perfect opportunity to enjoy and experience the desert, which in itself was breathtakingly sensational.

Staying two nights with Younas, Hamid and Rasheed was easily the shining highlight of our three week trip to Morocco. These wise, young, generous men couldn’t have done anything more to warm our hearts, enrich our experience or increase our comfort. They went above and beyond in every way, we absolutely adored them, the accommodation and the magic of their dunes, camels, food, etc. Highly recommend - if we ever make it back, we would love to see them and stay with them again!!

Not big dunes, but you can experience the sand colors during sunset and sunrise. The road to the camp is accessible to any type of car. The communication with the host was perfect, and I was waited in the nearby village to be guided to the camp. Comfortably sleeping in the tent. Clean toilet, hot water, shower. Good meals, but the dinner is overpriced. If you need wifi, the hosts provide hotspot access on their phones. Otherwise, note that Internet over Orange is not reliable. The hosts are very attentive and caring, persistently asking if everything is ok.

The luxury tent offers inner courtyard views, a sun terrace, a 24-hour front desk, and free WiFi is available throughout the property. We thoroughly enjoyed our quick trip into the desert. We organised a pick-up by 4WD and Mohammed picked us up on Mhamid at the end of the last roundabout in a white Toyota. It was an unbelievably fun 1,5hr drive through the desert. The camp is situated just between the first smaller dunes, tucked away so that you don't see other camps (at night you hear the drums and music a tiny bit if the wind is a particular way), but otherwise it feels secluded. The hut/tent is spacious and the bed quite comfortable. The bathroom was better than imagined for the desert. Also food was really good, a very good soup and chicken tajine for dinner and a crispy egg made in a tajine for breakfast. Walking the dunes was a lot of fun, especially for sunset and bright and early in the morning. Mohammed took us back to Mhamid early the next day, and even tried to drive us by some antilopes. We also had really nice conversations with him, fascinating to learn about Berber and nomad life.

Guests at the luxury tent can make the most of yoga classes offered in-house. We enjoyed our stay at Nomads Heaven Camp very much. Moloud is a very experienced host and guide, very proficient in different languages. Very friendly! Food was good and typical moroccon dishes for breakfast and dinner. Everything was reasonably priced. It was very quiet, approximately 6 km from Mhamid. You live in tent-like clay buildings. It was rather warm inside during the night. So we did not need warmer clothes inside. You can walk 200-300 m and you enter an area with smaller dunes with super fine sand. We just sat there and enjoyed a sunset and sunrise there. So it is "desert experience light". Be aware that the real desert with the big 100m high dunes is 60 km/ 2h away. Moloud could have organized a tour by 4x4 and/or camel. But that would have taken us more time, also one person had health issues. So ideally you spend 2-3 days. And stay in the "real" desert overnight.

So many stars! great rooms and delicious food! the staff is super friendly and helpful! they can organize everything for you from pick up from the airport to short or long excursions to live and explore the amazing desert by dromedars or 4X4. 100% recomendable!

If you would like to discover the area, hiking is possible in the surroundings and the accommodation can arrange a car rental service. We spend here amazingly great weekend, surrounded by tranquility, hospitality and joy of simple life. It was great experience to feel how bérbere nomads live their everyday in Sahara desert. We enjoyed walking among the quiet dunes, admiring the stoning sunsets, tasting vegies from desert garden and music evenings in circle of warm fire. A true desert immersion. We had a transfer from Mahamid. Our driver and also our guide spoke great English and provided an amazing experience, showing us the Nomad villages on the way. The food (we had lunch, dinner and breakfast) was one of the best we had during our 10 days in Morocco. The camp definitely exceeded our expectations, was right next to the big dunes, was super comfortable and clean, with our tent having a private bathroom with a shower and hot water. We took a camel ride to the big sand dunes and sand boarded down them. Cannot recommend enough! An absolute must when you’re in Morocco!
