Located right on Bara Beach in Bira, Cosmos Bungalows offers a beautifully simple beachfront accommodation where each bungalow has sea view. Free on-site parking space for guests who drive. friendly staff, spacious rooms, amazing view over looking the beach for brekkie each day and the included breakfast was so delicious, we were given options of omelette or pancakes and got a plate of fresh fruit. easy beach access too. location is great, not too far from the main part of town, only a few minutes by scooter but in a nice quite area. also within walking distance of more westernised resturants.

Blending nicely with the countryside, in a relaxed and family style atmosphere, Raja Laut Dive Resort offers bungalows built with wood from coconut palms. Stop reading the reviews and book this now. NOW! It so amazing. We stayed 8 nights. Right on the ocean, with a little beach, no mangrove trees to obstruct view or access to beautiful coral reef, great for snorkeling. Other places in the island don’t have this. I spotted snowflake eels, 8 types of clownfish, 3 types of anemones, coral colonies the size of cars, and so many pyramid butterflyfish and niger triggerfish just in the first thirty minutes. It’s amazing. All of the rooms have wonderful views. It was so so so relaxing to be there. I have never had such a good experience. The food was amazing and local. We did vegetarian and it was so tasty. They also had fresh fruit around at all times. We went with the divers on their charted boat and snorkeled for around 12$ a person for two separate spots a day. Super affordable. The boat team of three men were so professional, knowledgeable, and yet super funny and kind. I felt like we’re all friends by the end. There is a public boat from manado, which we took on our way out, and we booked a private boat on our way in through Raja Laut. Both were great. Brahm the manager was so kind and attentive. We did laundry there and it was done well. Jessie and her staff in the kitchen were so kind. Always enough food, served family style so we could get to know the other guests. It was so nice, but also acceptable to talk to your own party if you wanted to.

The place is nicely designed on top of a cliff with a great sea view. we also liked our cosy terrace with a day bed to chill with a view (not very private though!). We were lucky to have the place to ourselves the first night and could enjoy the peace at the pool etc…that’s when we enjoyed it the most! We also really appreciated the surprise cake that the staff prepared for my birthday.
