Its a bit of walk to the strip with main restaurants which we knew, but the staff offered to call a tuktuk for us in case we didnt want to walk the 12mins. I could not fault this place. We were really happy with our stay here.

The staff is absolutely amazing! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. They even picked me up from the airport and took me to my next flight in the morning. On the way to the airport, one of the staff members noticed I’d forgotten my power bank and charger. They turned around, grabbed my stuff, and kept going to the airport. It’s super close to the airport in a beautiful building. The rooms are cozy with AC and hot water, and there’s a little lobby bar. Just what I needed to relax and recharge!

It was a wonderful stay for two nights. The staff at the front desk and restaurant were incredibly warm and welcoming. They even allowed us to leave our luggage at the hotel after an early check-out, and when we returned from island hopping, they provided shower facilities and fresh towels to freshen up. The hotel is very clean and new; I loved the stylish décor and the pleasant, relaxing scent throughout. It’s definitely my favorite hotel in Panglao. Highly recommended!

They also have Netflix. The staff was very friendly, we had a nice talk with the owner and their restaurant is amazing as well. The food was delicious, we also very much loved the beautiful breakfast, where we also received a welcome drink.

The location is amazing ... right on the beach with steps down to snorkel in the sea. There is a marine reserve that is a good swim away (approx 200m) which was also good which can be reached from Balay Kumbal or a quick walk down to Paliton beach which is also within easy walking distance. They rent scooters which are a great way to explore the island as there are lots of lovely waterfalls... And also Tubod marine sanctuary (get a guide as you will get to see turtles). Restaurants and cafes are nearby and Gerry and Meredith are super helpful! Meredith also does a delicious Philippino banquet which brings everyone together for a wonderful communal dinner. Gerry was also amazing when we needed to change plans (severe flood warning where we were going) and incredibly our Plan B worked out a lot better than our initial plan due to his help and advice😊. The huts were clean and comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay here! Highly recommend

Riu del Mar Hostel is situated in Dauis, 5.8 km from Hinagdanan Cave and 40 km from Tarsier Conservation Area. Boasting a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a terrace. The rooms have a balcony with river views and free WiFi. This place is such a hidden gem! The staff were incredible, so easy to chat to, helpful and kind (they gave us so many recommendations - especially the owner she’s the best!). The dogs here are the cutest, we loved coming back to see them. The rooms were clean and comfortable. They did get a bit hot, but what else do you expect in the Philippines. It’s a little out the way from things like restaurants (but with a scooter absolutely fine), so we didn’t expect it to be as social as it was, we met some great people here. Also, being by the water makes it sooo worth it.
