He guided us all the way from Kathmandu, offering several travel options to reach Bardia. We chose to fly, and he kindly arranged our flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj at a very reasonable price. When we landed, he was already there to welcome us with a warm smile and had arranged a comfortable jeep for our drive to the homestay. Meeting him in person was a pleasure — calm, friendly, and incredibly professional. After a scenic drive of about one and a half hours, we arrived at Bardia Eco Friendly Homestay, and our first impression was beyond expectations. The property is peaceful and beautifully maintained, with spacious, spotless rooms and a stunning garden that looks magical under the evening lights. We were warmly welcomed with flowers by Shardul’s wonderful parents, Basu and Sarita. Basu, a teacher, shared interesting stories about Bardia National Park, while Sarita — an exceptional cook — served us some of the best home-cooked food we had in Nepal. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and made with so much love. Their kindness and hospitality made us feel truly at home. Shardul also organized a walking safari for us, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our entire trip. With his deep knowledge of the jungle and its wildlife, he guided us safely and confidently through the forest. We were incredibly lucky to spot three tigers and eight rhinos — a once-in-a-lifetime experience! We also spent one night in their treehouse, surrounded by nature — peaceful, adventurous, and unforgettable. Our stay at Bardia Eco Friendly Homestay was simply exceptional — filled with warmth, comfort, and genuine care. This is not just a place to stay; it’s a home where guests are treated like family. And nanu explains you how the safari goes to happen. he will be your guide during the safari. i did safari walking and jeep. i saw tigers/rhinoceros/elephants/snakes/monkeys...). good price!! there are 2 or 3 rooms. usually not a lot of people. big room with mosquito net, fan ceiling and your own bathroom. it was clean. nothing to say. i paid 210€ in all : for 4 safaris walking and 1 safari jeep, meals, free water bottles, room. 8.5 days!! safari begins at 7am and finishes like 6pm. bardia park is good if you want to avoid the tourists like in chitwan. so lets go to nanu homestay if u want a very good experience in a local family instead a ressort expensive and without contact with the owner.

A beautiful place! The garden is lovely and the rooms look great. We were in the jungle with the owner, Papu, for many days. He is a very skilled guide with excellent English, who doesn't only have a lot of knowledge of the animals and plants, but also cares about safety and the wellbeing of the animals we observed. We were very lucky to even see two tigers on different days with him. I really appreciated his knowledge of birds too. Very happy to have had you as our guide Papu!

Mukti and his family were really welcoming and provided us with all information and delicious food. The room was nice and we especially enjoyed the warm blankets at cold night temperatures in January. Mukti and his family are very caring and they are always ready to help. In addition, Mukti offers various kind of safari options in Bardiya National Park which we very much enjoyed. All in all it was an amazing experience and a great decision to stay here.

A beautiful property and lovely guest house very close to the bardiya national park entrance. The Cabins are big and cozy, each one quite far from the other so you get a lot of privacy and all around there are only trees and grass. It feels like really living in nature and not in a resort. The common dinning area is very nice, facing a beautiful river, and the food is good. Krishna and his wife are great hosts and they offer a lot of options to experience the park. Overall, a really amazing value-for-money place in bardiya

The place is very tranquil and about a 5-10 minute bike ride to the market. They have a bike available for rent which did come in very handy. The room was comfortable and clean and WiFi worked very well. The staff is wonderful and very helpful with finding out bus schedules, planning a safari tour and offering guidance for the area.

They have both travelled themselves, so they know what makes for a comfortable stay, e.g. they have a chill-out space with hammocks, the beds are great, there is space to leave your stuff, the bathrooms don't have the usual nuisances like shower over the toilet and what we really appreciated: if you have no safari planned for the day, there is no fixed breakfast time, come when you like, so no stress. All the staff are super friendly too and it makes for a very relaxed stay. Dinner is great, everybody eats together and there is no menu but rather a different dinner set every night that can be altered to individual preferences/ needs. It is great to sit together in the evening and swap stories of the day. The place seems to attract a certain type of traveller and it fits really well and makes it enjoyable to have a drink and a chat together. Pramesh is also a guide in the Bardia National Park and we went on two trips with him, a walking and a jeep safari, and both were great. We had the impression that we got to see a lot more than other people who stayed at different lodges that we ran into. Ramesh is very experienced and has a lot of patience, so we really got to "meet" all the wonderful inhabitants: 5 tigers, one big male wild elephant, several rhinos, deers, different species of birds (also the big hornbills!), it was amazing! Ramesh's cheerful personality makes it a pleasure to spend time with him. We got a very warm send-off and it felt to us that we had arrived as strangers and left as friends. We hope to be back soon!

You can arrange a lot of activities to the national park such as walking and jeep safari and bird watching. The owner Sonya is super helpful and kind. I really enjoyed the 6 nights I stayed here.

We have visited Bardia National Park 4 times. There are a lot of lodges and resorts, and they all offer pretty much the same things. But Bardia Wildlife Resort TRULY stood out. We stayed in a newly renovated room with air conditioning, good wifi, excellent meals. We took all our meals in the beautiful garden. We were surprised to see pizza and lasagna on the menu! And even more surprised when it really WAS pizza and lasagna! A welcome change from the usual Nepali food. The personal attention was incredible! Hira, the owner, took my wife into town to a fabric store where they made her two comfortable dresses for 1700 rupees, about 14 USD. I work in health care, and they arranged a visit to a local clinic, as well as the usual jeep and walking trips into the park.
